@ Death ~ Lovely start, that bear is so cute. My monitor is a bit dark, but I cant quite see what the left leg is doing. I had not realised how big the pic was ^^
@ Marsh ~ Can’t wait to see more

Pery is expert in Aurora's I really want to see one of them in real life.
But I agree with her though, you need more greens and pinks I guess. I'm specially a fan of adding in pinks because that leaves a very nice cold contrast. And indeed when they move they sorta show small waves I believe.
Oh when watching this vid I only now realised there are poison green Aurora's too

Again looking swell Marsh :3

Decided to ditch the grayscale method, because it would take a little longer to do. Instead opted for a slightly more cartoonish style, and simpler shading so I wouldn't need to spend hours on blending colours. I'm painting on top of the crappy lineart too, so that's why some parts will look smoother than others until I'm done and can erase the ugly thing from underneath.
Also fixed the magic cloud as per Tommy's instructions. Better?
And yeah, auroras. <3 We don't get them very often this far south, but usually you can see at least one during the winter.

Lovely I must say though, those red stripes are very red. You could also try to download some cloud brushes and mess a bit around with those to get a more cloudish feeling.
And I really want to zoom in on her face, looks really lovely. She reminds me of one of those girls from Starwars I think The colours on her armor are great too.

Your wish is my command!
(still heavily under construction )
Star Wars girls? And okies, I shall change the red. I will do more detail in the background and tone it down at some point later so it takes less attention away from the foreground.

Looks lovely Pery <3
And the Starwarsgirl.. I'm not really a starwars knowitall I think she is a princess don't know her name, I think InfestedHydralisk knows But she has the same hairdress I think. The way yours looks reminds me more of her then of the guildwars hairdress. But I can be completely wrong because I don't remember that princess all that well ;p

Princess Leia, or Bagel Head oh my we must watch Star Wars vids on the aurora cruise until you know it all off by heart. Actually Pery’s picture is more subtle than Leia’s.

I didn’t understand what you said Pery but I love the pic.

Bagel head? lol tho I prefer this Leia. ^^ rawr!
@ Pery- I love your work so far. And to be honest I think the more "cartoon like" coloring would work better with your piece anyway I agree with Tommy that the red needs to be toned down a bit, takes too much away from your ele.
@Tommy- Yay! Glad youre still putting something together! I dont think the bear looks like a dog. He is cute though That poor elf

Responses to me piece:
Pery; Thanks I think I'll throw in the highlight whites around the end, just seems like it would be an easy finishing touch activity. Plus it lets me make sure all the highlights are togethor and not too bright.
Aeronwen; You know when babies try to shove their feet in their mouthes? You know how they almost always get distracted and just hold on to their feet? It's like that :3 I think the left leg could use more darker shadows where it bends, that might not be noticable enough. But yeah, hes just grabbing his feet playfully
Moar Comments Now:
Pery; That looks really nice! The ground textures in combonation with the building textures really help to fix the distance problem ^^ The buildings look sort of blurry, but not too blurry, so they feel farther away and the dirt helps accentuate that.
The snow on the ground erks me though. Parts around the edges feel like they're piled up, when theyre suppost to be flat. Since the dirt next to it is flat, it makes the edges look like they're folded up strangely... did that make anysense o.O Either way try fiddling with the perspective on the snow.
Tommy; I like the idea ^^ is the elf teaching the person, or is the person at a workbench?
And for the bear; the nose is too bulgey, whereas a polar bears is straight. The ears are also less perky and circular; theyre short, triangular, and rounded off.
If it helps, i drew a bunch of polar bears in preperation for my piece you could take a look at.
Hope this helps ^^

Perhap's she's not a lady? ;P
@Tommy: looks good, though I agree. Only (wo)men like me sit like that. It's a panty feast with the general skirts of the guild wars armours, having her sit like that.
@Perynne: I realli like your piece. Will it have a slight vintage tweak to it?

... how did i miss that entirely. I didnt even see the rope o.o
however that makes so much more sense than at a workbench.
agree about the leg thing though :P

Maybe if he keeps it as is, but he also mentioned he might have his "polar bear" sitting in front of her

@Tommy: Were you going to make this picture more stylized/cartoonish or going the more traditional route? Just wondering since I've a few artists that would be some nice inspiration if you were to go the stylized direction.
