I caught you still browsing your thread! You said you were gonna sleep! I don't know if I can trust you any longer...
But starting to look really sweet, loving the detail you've put in that curly hair. Though I would add a few strings of hair near her ears, because if you would give her a bandana now, well you probably know what I mean Also I would narrow the part of her nose thats between her eyes a bit. And omai the tongue on the wolf is looking so cute (I love animals in a non-threatening, non-sexual kind of way, to adjust some Charlieterms )

Your current wippie is a fun little piece. My main comment would just be on her smile. With her current expression, her smile comes off as a bit more sinister than it does playful. When most people smile, you normally see more of their upper than lower teeth. I think increasing the size of the upper teeth and reducing the bottoms would really reduce that feral grin she has.

@Tommy's: I swear I posted that like a second before I logged off Messenger last night! Please don't hit me!
Thanks for the tips. I shall narrow the nose! :3 And yeah, I'm going to add all kinds of small wispy hairs and stuff after I've finished everything else. I'm working on all the shadow/light detail on one layer, so if I add them now and have to change something later, I'll have to keep re-drawing them...
@Charlie: Ah, thanks. Didn't notice that the teeth were a little off. There was still something slightly creepy about her face, but couldn't pinpoint it exactly. I shall try changing them.

Decided to put Nian's art-trade to the side for a while, so I can concentrate on getting frostkisses' commission done first, and then perhaps the Wintersday workshop drawing too. Don't worry Nian, I'll continue your drawing soon! I have a bad habit of working on several pieces at once, and taking longer at finishing them because of that.
Anyway, wip for frostkisses:
Doing it in grayscale first, then changing it to colour later. Wanted to work on the lighting more, instead of doing my usual vague lightsource, and grayscale is wonderful for working out where the shadows need to be.
Comments are very much welcome, there are some parts in it that are bothering me at the moment.

squee!
If you wouldnt mind Pery, I might like to have a copy of your "finished" greyscale too. Always been a fan of black&white and greyscale. I could pay you extra for the second copy if you'd like.
If I might say, maybe have her mouth closed more into maybe a slight smile. I dont know if its just me, but she looks a little sad. Maybe she could be putting her right hand on his left forearm? Dunno might look like shes an octopus or something lol. Other than that, I love it so far!

Awww that looks lovely Perynne! Yeah I am liking the grayscale method a lot. Makes it so much easier to identify light sources and shadows.

@frostkisses: Sure, I'll send you a copy of the finished greyscale too. No need to pay extra, since it's technically part of the coloured version too.
Sure, I'll try changing her smile. I actually tried having her right hand on his left forearm when I was sketching out the drawing, but didn't like how it looked. Too many hands all over the place.
@Ravenhawk: Thanks! Greyscale <3

Thank you! Yeah, I'm constantly pushing myself to learn to draw more realistically and better. It's good to hear that it's working.
Also, check this out: The Alot (sorry, couldn't help it... ;D seeing the word alot always makes me think of this)

LOL I remember that article. It had been a running joke in our guild for awhile. In fact, I made some rough sketches based on posts in that same topic in our guild forums lol. Here's one of them:

Omai that anatomy is so bad! His eyes should be way more divided from eachother and it only has 1 tooth! But on a more serious note Pery, its looking great ^^ One little point of critique is how you do the lips, but ofcourse that can just be a matter of taste But I never like dark outlines near the lips. It makes me think the has a tiny little mustache right about her lip xd For the rest its looking ossom :3
And from now on, I'm gonna run ctrl+f > alot before I submit a reply in your thread

that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of just practicing in greyscale to learn shading better.

A lot of concept artists do it, they draw things in greyscale first and then use different layer modes or colour adjustments to "colour" them (basically, this means just putting flat colours on top - the grayscale picture provides all the necessary shadows and highlights, so you don't need to do much detail in colour at all). For example, Kekai Kotaki, one of Guild War's concept artists, does most of his work in greyscale first (at least, that's the impression I've gotten from looking at his works). Julie Dillon is another one of my favourite artists who uses the method frequently as well.
It saves on time too, when all you have to do is think of greys at first.
@Tommy's: Bah, allright, I fixed the moustache. Couldn't stop seeing it now that you pointed it out.

Just wanted you to know, I love how the art tradey is turning out. There is so much detail in it, I looove how you are painting the hair for her, and frostkisses' piece looks so sweet, I actually like the greyscale of it! I'm just being lame and sick atm and too tired to comment much but I'm working and lurking in the shadows, oh and I will be drawing Rosey because she is such a lovely character. <3

Aww, thanks! Get well soon! This time of the year is always a rollercoaster of common colds and being better. Hopefully yours won't last too long. Can't wait to see more of your drawings.
Yeah, Rosie is one of my favourites thanks to how exotic she is, and she's got the most detailed background of all of my characters. <3 Pery is my main so she'll always be special, but Rose is definitely the shining second.

Finished Frostkisses' commission:
Working in grayscale was very interesting. I like it, although I still gotta work on getting better at colouring them. Frost, let me know if there's anything you'd like changed, I can still tweak them a bit.
Also made a little signature brush, which I will be using from now on. :3
