So! With roughly 3 days left, how does everyone feel about an after party? I may not be able to offer 4 or so hours like the others, but I can attempt to set up a smaller scale one, if so desired.

Lovely soft yellow light in Ascalon and the Jungle Dragon Zidane.
Ok this is what I've been able to get around, bit of rushwork at the end.

Zidane: Not entering for any subprizes?
Tommy: No worries. Personally, I can't stick around any longer than two hours for a party. If at all, it would be a short party.

yay~!! that's the spirit~!
moar traditional, lovely ~ and cool shot of your tools :}
I particularly like how you emphasized those peaks, how monumental you made them - no question that they are the focus.
also the little touches, like those dark ominous woods and the distinctive GW bow.
The expression from your doggie makes me think "are we seriously going over that?" .. but could be patiently wagging "c'mon, what're we waiting for" :}

It’s a sincere (albeit entirely amateur) effort, but I figured the more the merrier. With any luck, this’ll at least encourage other art newbies to break open the crayons and scribble a last minute entry.
And yes, it's supposed to by the Crystal Desert.

Started mine today! I should at least be able to finish it as a speedpaint if nothing else.
Wip of 30 minutes worth of work:
Lovely entries everyone, and I'm very glad to see so many new people entering as well. It's always a good idea to try and make an entry, even if winning seems impossible - after all, surprises do happen, and there's so many extra categories that there's a good chance most entries will get something for their trouble.

Been busy the last few days with RL stuff. I started something but it is not in any way shape or form to be considered as a decent submission (even for a speed painting lol). So yeah prolly not gonna make it since I'll be at work/commuting for the next 8 hours >_<
Good luck to all the participants though

Winning, impossible? Not at all.
Just keep a good watch on the time as you're completing this. There's still roughly 9 hours until the deadline.

I definitely need to practice landspaces... this took me just an hour and a half, but even so, there's a lot of things like atmospheric haziness, perspective, distances and such that I struggle with.
Thanks to Invertation for such a great contest idea! Even though I wasn't able to put more time into my entry, I really, really love the idea. It's too easy to just concentrate on character drawing and forget about backgrounds and landscapes, so this contest was a wonderful way to just take some time off and concentrate on what's around the characters.

Invertation, do you think my Krytan Coast piece has enough jungle to qualify for the Jungle Subcategory?
