well.
there goes first place. LOL
really good zidane ^^
i think the upclose boulder is a little too large though, unless is actually suppost to be.
The path to the knight isnt that long, so he wouldnt be much bigger when at the start of the path. This makes the boulder appear like it's the size of a house... O.o however it is fantasy art, so it could have been onpurpose

It is supposed to be huge, but I should probably put something in the foreground to make it more purposeful. Good catch.

Make sure to use the submission format when you're done and have finalized it so I know how to categorize it.

well... i guess I'll be aiming for a close second, so heres my update:
Think I may add more variety in the trees as in the picture there looks like theres a gap in the yellow and green, but its not really there... so it must not be strong enough for the camera or something. The hill on the front really isnt turning out good, and I think its because I initially painted it at the wrong angle so the perspective is wrong. I also need to try and make the shadows feel more real.

Impressing as always, Zidane.
And, this is a fine time to post this: We're one month down, and 2/3 of the way through the contest. Two weeks remain until the deadline. Remember, there are no extensions, and once the deadline passes, all submissions are final!
At the same time, don't be discouraged by the competition. I designed this contest with everyone in mind, so there's more to go around the more participants there are.

ill try and push an update out tonight or tomorrow; i sort of re-got into playing guild wars again, trying to complete my HoM. Maybe even GWAMM? :s
So that took up my time last week. my goal is to be finished either by the weekend, or by next wednesday (end of this week might not happen; lots of due dates as march break is sneaking up).
Edit: Found some time to paint ^^ Its getting close to done; i want to try and do more work with the fadey-out part of the hill [left side] as well as fix up the bottom right. Other than little touch ups after that, I think I will be pretty much done
Some of the colours, I find, are blending too much, so i painted on a few washes of different colour (i.e. some of the hills blended, so i did a complete yellow layer on top. a blue layer went on some rocks).
next time will probably be the last update, gather some feedback and make some changes, and then i'll get the better camera for my submission shots

Wow I see first place is taken haha, and I could have done a lot better with this, but I don't have time at all at the moment to do anything in watercolor. I was bored in class the other day so I made this http://nemesis-of-the-gods.deviantar...-Sea-199381491
I think it will be my entry, because I don't have time to submit anything else, and while I doubt I'll get anything out of this with that piece of crap sketch, I may as well enter just for the hell of it anyways.
It's all in pencil by the way, completely traditional artwork.
Enjoy. =P

coming along beautifully, DbA - I know the actual piece looks much better than those photos~!
glad to see others joining, Thistle~@! I recall the sky in ?Dom of Pain was purplish, with a striking moon ..
I really love the feel of those lines, Nemesis - reminds me a little of japanese woodblock illustrations.

@Thistle; Yeah, i like switching between different mediums all the time. It sort of helps give a broader choice depending on how you think a piece feels.
@Marsh Thanks ^^ I'm glad you really like it
And yes, paints Dx Usually I hate paints, but this is turning out quite well
@Smilin' Thanks ^^ I plan on finishing it monday and tuesday, pictures hopefully wednesday or thursday
