In anticipation of TK’s Guild Wars Mini Movie Series Act II, TK and Baumer are hosting a video competition on Youtube with cash prizes and mini pets to be won.

Are you ready for this?

TK and Baumer’s Guild Wars Mini Series Trailer Competition!

Starting May 1st, 2009, send in your entries as video responses to this video.

The deadline for entries is May 31st, 12 midnight Eastern standard time.

12 midnight EST = 4am GMT = 9pm PST = 10pm MST = 11pm CST

There is NO exception to the rule UNLESS you are having technical difficulties UPLOADING to YouTube. If that is the case, email MaskofTK through YouTube mail before the deadline detailing your technical difficulties with YouTube, and your entry will still be accepted late.

Trailers must be 2-3 minutes in length including credits should credits be given.

Your Guild Wars trailer must be about one of the following:
1) a Guild Wars mini series that YOU have created
2) a Guild Wars mini series that YOU are about to create
3) a Guild Wars mini series that DOES NOT EXIST

Your trailer CANNOT have any of the following in the music, voice acting or anywhere else in the trailer:
- swearing or profanity
- references that can be offensive to race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc

If there is a song or voice acting that you would like to use in your video that has swearing or profanity etc, those words MUST BE bleeped out, silenced or somehow taken out of the video. If they are not removed, your video will be disqualified.

The trailer MUST be about your own work (aka your own Guild Wars Mini Series or something made completely from scratch). The trailer CANNOT be about someone else’s work (aka someone else’s Guild Wars Mini Series).

As an example, no one can make a trailer for TK’s Guild Wars Mini Series. The reason being, myself and Baumer are the creators of the mini series. Only Baumer and/or myself can make a trailer for TK’s Guild Wars Mini Series.

Unless you are the creator of a said mini series, you CANNOT make a trailer for that said mini series. The only exception to that rule is for a Guild Wars mini series that does not exist.

The trailer MUST BE BRAND NEW. Any trailer made prior to the competition CANNOT be used as an entry.

NOT following these rules will get you DISQUALIFIED.

Your video will be marked on the following 5 criteria:
1) Format/ Rules (did the video follow the rules of the competition? if not, either marks are deducted or the video is disqualified)
2) Originality/ Story (was this a fresh idea or just some obvious copy cat of another series already out there? was there a story that the viewer could follow or was it just a flashy music video?)
3) Editing/ Difficulty (was it just a person running all the time or was editing used to enhance the video?)
4) Fun Factor/ Entertainment (does it keep the viewer's interest until the end?)
5) Survivor Ability (can this trailer open into a bigger story or it is just a 'one of' kind of thing?)

Each criteria will be marked out of 10 points, for a total perfect score being a total of 50 points.
1 point = the trailer is the complete opposite of the criteria
10 points = the trailer fits the criteria perfectly

The Prizes
1st place = $250K + an unded mini celestial ox
2nd place = $150K + an unded mini celestial ox
3rd place = $50K + an unded mini celestial ox
Honorable Mentions = 1 Zaishen key

More prizes will be added, depending on the amount of people that enter the Guild Wars Mini Series Trailer Competition.

Judging will take place during the 1st week June (after the contest has closed).

The judges
- TK’s Guild Wars Mini Series staff (vote on 25% of your mark)
- TK’s Guild Wars Mini Series actors & voice actors (vote on 25% of your mark)
- other Guild Wars Mini Series Makers & and Guild Wars Video Makers (vote on 25% of your mark)
- the other contestants [contestants also each other] (vote on 25% of your mark)

The winners will be announced by another video on June 8th, 2009.

Just a reminder. Please be sure to read the rules carefully.

If you are uncertain what something means in the listed rules, or are uncertain what kind of things you can enter into this competition, do not hesitate to contact one of us and ask questions.

Many people have already done that, asked questions and sought clarification both through comments on the video and through emails on YouTube.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions for clarification. Asking questions will not lower your chances in this competition. Neither will it raise them either.

Remember, ALL video trailers done for this video competition MUST BE BRAND NEW.

No PREVIOUSLY UPLOADED videos, whether you re-upload it on a newly created YouTube account and rename it to something else or straight out submit it as an entry to the competition from your main account, neither is ACCEPTABLE as an entry to the contest.

Failure to follow that rule or any of the other rules, as listed in the description of this video, will lead to your disqualification.

Thanks everyone. We hated to have to post this, as this comp is mainly for fun, but we felt we had to remind everyone so to prevent possible problems in the future.

Answer: Using other backgrounds from other games or real life etc, is acceptable.

Answer: Using other characters etc, from other games or elsewhere is not acceptable. As this is a Guild Wars Trailer competition, all the characters used in your mini series trailer MUST BE from Guild Wars itself.

There is just about a week left before the deadline for this video competition. If there are any of you still out there who are working on submissions for this, I highly suggest you email me through YouTube letting me know so I know to look out for you.

RhiannaAangLee has submitted an entry to this competition titled "Odin's Spa Mini-Series Trailer - Competition Entry". It was accepted as an entry on May 21, 2009.

There is less than 24 hours left before the video competition deadline. All of you who are still looking to enter, I suggest you send me an email if you haven’t done so already to let me know who is still outstanding.

A word of warning to all: The closer you upload your entries to the end of the deadline, the more likely you won’t be accepted if something happens and messes up your video. Do not wait until the last minute. You all had an entire month to prepare your video. If you miss the deadline, you miss the deadline.

Please note that all entries are due by May 31, 2009 at 12 midnight EASTERN STANDARD TIME. The deadline is not based on whatever time YouTube uses. All entries are due May 31 @ 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time.

The competition is now closed. We are not accepting any more video responses.

1 last minute entry is pending approval due to YouTube technical difficulties. At this point, they will either be approved or rejected based on if they have fulfilled the rules.

Judges and Finalists, keep an eye on your YouTube email. I shall be sending you an update on what happens next for the video competition judging process. Comments will be turned off while judging is in progress.

Due to the overwhelming amount of entries to the competition, Baumer and I have decided to expand the prizes. Aside from the 1st through 3rd place prizes, we are now opening up 4th through 6th prizes.

4th prize = 25K + an unded wind rider mini pet
5th prize = 15K + an unded wind rider mini pet
6th prize = 5K + an unded wind rider mini pet

The honorable mentions have also been upgraded. Honorable mentions will now receive 1 zkey + 5 shamrock ales.

There will be a party in game to announce the winners. It will be held on Sunday June 7th, 2009 at 4pm Eastern Standard time. The location is the Great Temple of Balthazar Asia – Japanese - District 1. Everyone is invited. Please RSVP with me so I know who can make it and who can’t.

4pm EST = 8pm GMT = 1pm PST = 2pm MST = 3pm CST

The video announcing the winners will come out Monday June 8th, 2009.

If a finalist wins one of the prizes but cannot be at the in game party to receive it, you will be sent an email after the party through YouTube email letting you know what you’ve won. After that, it is YOUR responsibility to make arrangements with cj3mdragon (in Youtube) aka King C J (in game name) to get your prize. All prizes that are not picked up at the in game party will be held for a maximum of 2 weeks after the in game party. If the prize is not picked up by that time, the prize becomes void.

Sadly YouTube is throwing a hissy fit claiming copyright on the videos when in fact they have no claim. So what I've started to do is upload the videos at an alternate site. You can find some of them here:

They are going up at a slower rate here, but that's to keep the sweet quality this site has. The videos on here should catch up to the YouTube ones in a few months.
