Will we be able to see any of the skill ideas others come up with for the contest? I know we might seen the winning one, but it would be interesting to read them if you got an ok from people who entered.

There should be a bunch of runners-up posted along with the winners. I hope there is still a flood of entries to come in, just a couple days left!
Also I have decided I severely don't like the material I was trying to use for the Kveldulf so that is pushed onto the back burner for a while.

Aw, I would have really liked to see you do a Kveldulf, I hope you manage to find better material soon =) I'm not really a funny person, but hopefully the skill I do will be at least slightly amusing.

You should post the picture of the Yeti hand puppet you made, if you still have it. I thought that was pretty nice looking.

I didn't try a Yeti yet, I did do a Golem puppet that I posted last year. It was really rough and I haven't attempted it again.
For those wondering "what's she going to do next?", white moa chick is in progress this week and I found great base material for this. That one is going to take a while to complete, so expect it in mid to late August.
Edit: Added my deviantART link to the first post.

White Moa Chick finished
I finished the white moa chick today, so snapped a few quick pictures before my son grabbed it and went to bed. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some nicer pics in the sun, and maybe a new moa chick dancing vid. CE Moa Chick with backup dancers!

Wow, those plushies definitely look bigger sized with your son as a comparison lol. So adorable, I barley noticed the little feathers they have on the back of their heads. =P

Hehe. He's a bit of a shrimp also. The kids kept playing catch with the moa bodies and raining feathers all over the house this week. And congrats to you Chicken of the Seas and to Shewmake on winning the GWG contest. I hope you like your plushies!

Yep I'm currently open for making commissioned plushies (see first post of thread, I will keep my current open/closed status on there.)
And people who will want one for Christmas, make sure you let me know WELL ahead of time so I can have them ready for then. If 20 people suddenly ask for chicks in the first week of December I can't guarantee Christmas delivery

Finished up my Nian today. Sewing on all the yarn hair took a long LONG time. Not 100% happy with the face shape, but after 3 attempts that was the one I went with. The shot from the front makes it look extra long but from the side it looks more balanced. I know the claws don't fit, those were the ones I had on hand. I'm going to remake them this weekend.
and a lineup of my plushies and one of my cuties.

A little decoration
Just a little bit of cuteness to guard my monitor. I have a growing desire to make a dozen of these and put them on a Christmas tree this year.
And for size refs

I updated the Nian with larger claws. I think it greatly improves it. Since the rest of it is in plain colors I didn't paint any shading onto them but I wonder if I should. Comments?
My next project is a model and should be done before the end of the weekend. It's in the painting stage right now.

I love the larger claws much better, though truth be told I had to go back and see what the old nian looked like in order to spot the difference.
