you can buy a pair which are too short and build on them, but it's better (and cheaper) to start off with a pair which do not rise much higher than the ankle, but has the sort of heel and point you want. I was talking about making your own thigh-highs by creating thigh-high boot-covers on X type of shoes, not necessarily altering a pair of thigh-highs. Sorry to be confusing, I'm bad with words. o.o'

Well. I am sad. I wasn't able to run into Verene when she was in costume. So no pics of her from me. T_T *sulks in corner*

I didn't remain in costume very long. I ultimately wasn't very happy with what it looked like while it was on, and while it was decently comfortable to wear standing up, I couldn't really do much else (even sitting down was uncomfortable). Also the bootcovers, despite fitting perfectly when I assembled them and tried them on, decided to be far too loose and constantly fall down. Aaaaaand my green makeup decided to go on my face okay, but just not blend at all on my arms or neck, and instead make me go red and blotchy. Not fun.
And then going outside to take pictures completely ruined it all, because it had rained. Which soaked the bootcovers. And then my socks and shoes under them. Blech.
I may redesign and reconstruct it in the future, though, since I do like the base design...I just didn't create it as well as I'd like. We'll see. I think I rushed this one too much, so I couldn't take the time to really fix mistakes I made. I also didn't really put much thought into what I was going to wear underneath it, which didn't help with my unhappiness with the costume. I do still love the wig, though. That turned out great, though when styling it I accidentally messed up the shape a tiny bit so it's now just a bit too tight to fit well on my head. Good job, me.
Here's a picture, though - I bought the fan the day before in the dealer's hall for $5 XD Not bad, especially as the paper/pronged fans are among my favorite offhands in GW. Plus I just love fans. Pity I broke it on accident snapping it open and closed repeatedly.
Ignore the camera case on the bench in the background
I did have to fight the temptation to jump into the Assassin's Creed photoshoot my boyfriend was a part of, though; minus the wig, I could have passed quite well as a Courtesan

Cool cool. Shame it didnt turn out how you wanted. My shoot for Clamp got rained out too, but we still got the shots we wanted of ourselves.
Other than cosplay I had fun playing that game with ya on Thursday, even though I was put in the poor house early as the bard.

So we gonna see your shots Slayer?
Verene, the colours are lovely and it looks Ok. Was it too tight to sit in? I would have been tempted to make it more 'A'line, or maybe even softly gathered under the bust - depending on how long it is on you. (can't quite tell from the pic) Do you have a shot of the boots before they went soggy?
Oh and the fan is gorgeous, also shows off that your nails were looking rather lovely too

Hehe, Slayer, we played a few games of Red Dragon Inn again yesterday afternoon before packing up. Both games were "let's all gang up on one person at a time" - one game we took out someone in one round. And both turned into two people just beating the hell out of each other
Aero - no shots of the boots, but they really weren't anything special, just light green boot covers that went up a bit past my knees. The dress itself was about knee-length. I think the biggest problems were the top part of the dress was cut weirdly (the bodice was cut too low and the top of the top part was cut open too much), so it didn't sit well at all.
Hehe, thanks ^^
