Guild Wars 2 Fan Montage: Seraphim [720P]
Like most of the MMO world I am really excited for Guild Wars 2. I wasn't originally because my old PC couldn't run it, but I got a gaming PC a month ago. I reinstalled Guild Wars to focus mainly on PvE since I never really focused on it (Even though I did complete all campaigns and EoTN [ Except Proph.]) I felt like taking a few hours and mashing together Guild Wars 2 Profession footage to create this. Some parts are synced to the music, some are not.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px5WtWN__Nw
The video is called Seraphim because the song is called that. It is blocked in Germany like most music on YouTube (Sorry).
Comments on the video will be much appreciated.

Video: Excellent
Music: Kindest thing I can say is "just not my kind of music." Not even music to me. Game music would seem most appropriate to a fan montage, just IMHO.

I would go for music that a larger playerbase could actually enjoy listening to.

Considering most of the music world is run by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Dubstep, no thank you.
It needed an epic feel. And the song is epic, if your ears can't handle it that's your problem
It needed metal. And I wouldn't want to put some lame Metallica, Iron Maiden or maybe "Let the Bodies hit the floor" for the 100 millionth time on YouTube

When you welcome comments, don't expect all great things. If Your ears can't handle it, that's not our problem. IMHO, the music doesn't match the video at all. I think game music would be more appropriate or other types of music. Not all "good" music is Beiber, Gaga, and Dubstep. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that is a great song in some circles, I just don't think it fits in this situation.
Otherwise, cool collection of vids.

The problem I have with the video is that there isn't any actual editing. No part of the video fits the song because its just a cinematic followed by skill videos. All the videos are continuous and aren't spliced at all, which is needed to give a video the very important rhythm that everyone is looking for.
It's a nice video for a beginning editor, but could use some improvements.

Did you even watch the video? (I'm assuming you didn't because the first minute is the only part that is continuous) They are spliced, each video had around 3 skills in it, the raw videos. I took the videos, spliced each skill individually and mashed them up, and syncing clips at parts that feel like they need syncing. Took over an hour to splice the clips, so don't tell me I didn't splice anything. If I wanted to make a shit video I would have put music over top of a single Class Skill Demonstration video

Great video,
Putting a movie score music would have been a good fit, rather than having a throat screamer. (music is fine, but it's just the "throat Screaming", it's a turn off)

Woah now, no need to get all defensive and angry at me. I never said the video was s***, simply making some observations. I did indeed watch the video, perhaps what you consider splicing and what I consider splicing are two different things.
We are both titles to our own opinions on the matter. The difference being that my opinion comes the perspective of someone trying to give constructive criticism while your's comes from the prospective of the video creator. I make videos too and I know how it feels when someone doesn't necessarily like my video(s). But you have to take it in stride to improve on the next video.

You don't have to put Lady Gaga or Dubstep on it. Those songs don't really fit a game like GW at all. You could use more GWish music and movie music.
Don't feel offended by criticism, sure it's not fun reading negative comments. But you should listen/read it and take it all into your next project.

I Love METAL music, specially 80s classic metal, this is just your typical cookie cutter,screemo,non-unique,band,doesnt fit the video, imo. Oh and one more thing "Rap" in an rpg game/video just don't meld well, again imo.

Screamo isn't a genre of music so I question your knowledge on metal music
Christian Metalcore=/= "Screamo"
Non unique... the vocalist is a preacher and applies his preaches in his songs, hence the beginning of the video. Pretty damn unique if you ask me.
If I wanted to add the game's music, I would have. But that wouldn't make the video unique, especially since Guild Wars really only has a single song to represent the whole series lol

Read the lyrics, think of the people in the lyrics "Us" as the last races to fight the ancient dragons.
It fits perfectly, if you're actually a musician (Like myself) and analyzed it with 1% of your brain's power.

Fixed.
You'll find that "cult" musics are more well liked than those publicized by the news media. Those who focus on what the news says only sees a miniscule aspect of the world - in music and everything else. (Edit: clarified sentence)
Anyways, I'd agree that the music doesn't fit the video that well. The beginning does, but once it gets to in-game footage it no longer fits. It just feels like a bunch of random clips put to a song one person (the maker) really likes. That's all fine and dandy, but there's no motivation to watch the video. I'd rather just have the song playing in my iTunes.

I don't think the song is epic, and my ears can handle it. In fact, I like all kindss of music except rap. Yet the music did not fit the video at all (except for one part at 3:30 "you were made to burn" showing a charr on fire) - or would it be the other way around? And I definably wouldn't consider that song "epic" - good, certainly, but not "epic." What makes something good or bad - and in turn "epic" - is a matter of opinion, so that kind of comment is just unnecessary and incorrect in every sense.
