Here's the first draft

So I am finally working on Smilin' Assassin's Commission, and at this point I feel like I should give a huge discount on this piece. You can't see it now, but she is going to sit on a big tree branch, it would look messy if I put up my doodle BG with this haha, though this is just the sketch prior to the lineart, but I felt like I should put some WIP up at least.

o you are doing Ala in pixyform instead~! that's kewl, tho .. remember, Nolani commishes are really just an excuse to play with other's characters, heheh
So why not take advantage of that and make her more .. pixylike, elfin .. you know, angular features, pointy ears etc :}

mm I am not the best person to offer crit .. you've certainly got her outfit recogniseable~!
her pose looks a little awkward, but might make more sense once you've added the branches

and no need for discount, just keep playing with her concept, the idea is that you have fun with her, not frustration~!

Considering how little action this thread gets, I suppose a li'l OT is ok, since it is about my art (maybe it should be "Gemini's Commissions and Art Dumps" ;P)

Thank you ^^ It didn't do too well in the small version though; I guess I still need some practising on the avatar pieces. But I thought it looked "cheap" with a cutout from a display/example art pic as an avatar.

And she is very sincere. A little dumb too, but she rather laughs and be happy than intelligent and unhappy. But I guess, she's just a part of me ;P

Alacrity the deathpixie .. er, not for the squeamish

as you can see, she is missing a few items of clothing: pixies don't usually wear shoes or gloves .. but a lot of artists prefer them cos it's easier than drawing feet~!
and of course Alacrity is a lot leaner & wiry, doesn't have pointy ears here (but oughta) and she does have sharp little teeth :}

if you wanted to include wings, they might be more effectively drawn as a blur ~

oh, and whilst Ala thinks herself a pixie, others might call her an imp, or little demon ..

Here's the WIP pic of the flats

This is step two on Smilin'Assasin's commission. Never mind the colours; they are just the flats, I'm gonna build on them until the look like they should.

I just wanted you to know I am still active.

This piece I made a horrible mistake on; I thought I saved it, and made changes, then it turned out, I didn't and I couldn't go back in the history. Woohoo! >_>

I changed her ears, the BG is under process as I am going to redo the scetch on it slightly. I also removed her stockings and gloves, but I let her keep the arm bracers, because they are a nice detail.

...Also I made a banner for this thread :P You can see it in the main/first post.

Well, I was considering redoing the whole thing for a while, but I liked this one. I might draw you some freebees of her later because I am quite found of her.

I did a copy of my own hand once, then I just learned how to alter the hands. It's more obvious to me though that I use the same base :P But thank you ^^ I'm working on feet though.

And here's how she is finished:

I don't mind pointers. I chose to keep some detail and made her "armour" a little more leathery and the top and skirt more fabric like. I'll probably edit her mouth at some point though.
