Well i send in a corrected version, i couldn't bare it that so much of my work got obscured by shadow layers on actually saving the file to .jpg; what was on my screen was way different than the saved result :/ ... the corrections didn't help in all places, but i didn't feel like doing large parts again, just erazed various shading areas, i hope they will accept the corrected version...
For the actual submission into the workshop contest i might work on it some more over the weekend ... for now i think i will try and find a place to present my progress. In about 2h i will post my final piece here in full size and glory...

Updated to here….as usual if I have made a mistake or missed anyone please pm me.
@Odinius – it is absolutely wonderful. With all those pics I would have had a plain background though, it confuses me a bit.
@Mina – I often say things are too dark on my monitor but that looks fine.
@Gemini – put us out of our misery, tell us you saw the posts and submitted.
@Stouda – That’s epic!

Wait, I can still submit? But where? I can't find the contest info on the website any more
And that's why I thought I missed it...

If we submitted our entry to the official contest but forgot to put our age, should we re-submit?
Time is of the essence!

It does say 'make sure' to do that. Anyhow it can't hurt.

I changed my entry here:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...&postcount=179
Whole different progress album, though I will be finishing the original, it's unlikely to be done until after the deadline (for even this unofficial contest)
Enterred into the official contest, but haven't uploaded to pic to my photo album just yet. It's essentially an editted version of the one I posted earlier.

Here's my final submission; I'll be updating my progress gallery today with more pictures.
----
I noticed on the first page that my entry read "♠Esparanza Orchid:SexyMissUniverse [Cosplay]"; not sure where the SexyMissUniverse came from, but here's my correct submission information. The link to my progress gallery was also incorrect.
Name: Esparanza Orchid
Art Form: Cosplay
Idea: Lady Althea Goes Trick-or-Treating
Progress Gallery: http://tkguildwarsplace.blogspot.com/

Ok just went through all the works of art in the OP ... i did find some dead links there!! ... all in all ... some pretty amazing stuffz ... i wanted to pick out two for some extra feedback...
@Ravenhawk, i realy like how your piece came out in the end, the colors realy give a whole festive look to it, one thing i would have done different is the red armor of the guy on the left, i would have gone for green seeing there is now a lot of red in the front of the picture, and not a lot of green in the whole (don't you like green?)...
@Odinius, i realy liked your sculpture, but your final picture was way to busy for me, next time choose 3 maybe 5 shots at total to not overwhelm the viewer. In case of this scene i would have gone:
..............................[detail 1 *partially over full ]
[shot from front/left][full front][shot from front/right]
.......[detail 2 *partially over full ]
With the 2 detailed shots of say the black moa and the spider... That way all the angles you want to show are covered, and you can pick out 2 of your best sculptures to put a bit more in the spotlight, while keeping the whole rather 'quiet'
------------------------------------
@Rends: somewhat similar to Odinius, i like the sculpture, and your final picture is much easier on the eyes (it comes close to the example i gave for odinius), but there are a few things i would have done different. The side shots need to be somewhat more from the front. And i would have tried to take those 2 shots in frog eye perspective, this dramatizes the sculpture. Also, don't feel afraid to put detail pictures over bigger shots to bring everything together as a whole...

@Arghore - THANK YOU!! you just saved my ass..I forgot to fill out the proper form and I re-sent my entry just now *1000 HUGS*
There's still 2 hours left. if it is 12 noon PDT for the deadline *hopes she's right*
And yeah I chose red for that guy because his armor is red. I mean in game, he wears a red armor. Just trying to be consistent with his personality ^^
EDIT here's a quick URL to let you guys know what time it is in PDT:
http://www.timeanddate.com/library/a...es/na/pdt.html
12 Noon is the deadline for that timezone

So i finally finished my entry as well and managed to send the first mail to arenanet without the picture... shame on me...
All the finished entries are soo awesome!!
@ravenhawk:
The finished picture looks lovely! Great work! Btw: the only real black i see in your pic is the band on the girls witch-head ! all other colours are dark-grey for me, i guess we have really different screen-settings! In the end i pushed the contrasts on my entry again, so it will probably be too dark on your screen. I hope it won't be too dark on arenanet's screens as well... :S. Well, now it's too late to change it anyway..

Ok people, I just sent it in after some finishing touches, hopefully I managed to make the cut.
EDIT:
This is to show the final image and compare it to how I first made it. Just some colour changes and added text.
And yes, my handwriting is curvylicious on the tablet, gawd knows whai.

Right for Odinius and Rends, this quickly (!) put together collage of Rends work; thus not saying this is the best way to put them in but a different way that is slightly more interesting to look at... and on second thoughts i had best left out that picture in the back and left it all black... and the side shots could then shift 'in' a bit more... well i did this quickly merely to show that you can do more than just putting your pictures side by side...
* the triangilar shapes are merely to simulate a frog eye perspective, though a different shape can help to brighten up a collage
But this goes for pretty much anyone that wants to present a collage of pictures from something they made IRL. Pick a few angles that best show your artwork and stick to 1-3 overall shots, to then add 1-5 detail shots, and don't just place them, but try and find a nice placement that does justice to your effort.
! TBH. seeing the deadline for the workshop isn't untill the 22nd perhaps you feel inclined to do something with this feedback and change your final picture for this workshop contest

That's interesting. Do you mean 'fish eye'? My camera as a fish eye filter effect, but it distorts the image too drastically.

yay, this is so exciting seeing everyone's amazing entries! I can't wait to see how many workshop entries place in the official contest! I bet we have a bunch It's such a thrill to recognize art pieces on the site, and be like, 'omg, I knew how s/he made that!'
@esparanza: love your cosplay! I'm amazed you were able to do it so fast! The dress came out gorgeous! I swear I must have been seriously bitten by the cosplay bug, because I absolutely love looking at costumes and seeing what other people make and how they make it XD
@aerowen: aww, poor thing... I feel like people keep skipping your 'PM me please for mistakes' posts XD I say just splash the first post with the phrase over and over so people won't miss it ;P You've been doing an awesome job keeping up... this thread moves so fast that it's so easy to miss entries so I can't imagine having to keep updating the first post :O
@minami and ravenhawk: don't worry! I'll post my final entry with my finished progress page I still have 20 shots or so to get off my phone and then I have the ones taken with my camera of the 'photoshoot' XD I realized I didn't take any shots of me putting the make-up on, and those would have been fun to have to see the difference (like how people do those half face thing where half is before and the other half is after XD ). I should be able to finish my progress page over the next couple of days while I decompress from being in 'omg finish, finish, finish' mode
--------
EDIT: just wanted to add...
@rends with tongue: ...that I actually like the original version of what you posted over arghore's and don't think it's messy at all, because you have it basically organized in 3's, which is very good (3 major sections: 1) the 3 blocks arranged top to bottom on the left 2) the 3 vertical pieces in the center, and 3) the close-up of the bottom showing the detailing). I wouldn't have changed your original submission at all, since it's very clean and flows very well from left to right

Just a bit of info from Regina (over MSN):
Livia says (12:29 PM)
Hi Regina,
I wanted to ask you really quickly about the Halloween Contest: How can the entrants make sure you guys receive their entries? It seems to be a big question for several years now, since there is no automated confirmation reply.
Regina Buenaobra says (12:30 PM)
If you don't receive a bounceback message, then we have received it.
As far as I know. I mean we have a few hundred submissions already
Livia says (12:31 PM)
ok, thank you I'll let the guru workshop participants know.
Regina Buenaobra says (12:32 PM)
The main problems we have are people not attaching things and instead embedding images in the message, attaching low-quality images that make it difficult to to see what is in the image, not attaching anything at all, and not providing us with any identifying information like their name and all the rest of it.

So many wonderful entries! Since the final versions and watermark-less pics are up its time to update my screensaver folder. :-) And after seeing so many great Guru members works I really wish we could see all the ones that ANet will get.
Now the two week wait and worrying if my entry was actually received. I wish delivery and read receipts actually worked.
