To Do:
1. put in Caithe + Shading
2. put in the undead
3. put in a middle scene, some bushes.
4. do a highlight pass
5. do a general shading pass
6. light the fire.
7. Name it 'Destinies first halloween'
I am not content with how MKT's face is. Expect change.
Edit: Tell me what to improve! The face just looks bad, and I don't want that; its the focus. it needs to be good. What about the shading is wrong/bad? Theres something I cant see. Wont finish it tonight ( ) but it WILL be done tomorrow night. finale pictures on wednesday.

@ DBAA: I think the face looks good, you could just round it a bit more on the side of this head, remove a bit from the top and add a bit near his shoulder. What also may add a lot is adding some more colors to his mouth, a bit of white perhaps, to make it more shiny.
Also you could add a lot of this to the rock. It's a big moon, there should be moonlight coming from it, casting white light (and a double shadow) on the little man. If you are at a stage that is no longer possible, try adding some highlights to the little green mushrooms. It needs a bit more attention as the little fellow and the rock go easily unnoticed because of the size of MKT.
Great work everyone nothing more to add really, no time!
Finishing it all will be tight and I'm running a fever too (I thought it missed me this time since my girlfriend and kids were sick for over a week, but alas that sneaky fever got me last night).
Yesterday I finished the nightmare and today I started on the back wall.
Starting on the floor now and have to make some small parts and the statues.
Might even make something to fill the right side a bit more.

Great to see everyone's progress so far. It's crunch time now!
@DBA - I agree with what Tommy said. I really love that moon and the perspective of the cliff.
Last progress pic, I'll get it done tonight. I just put the DA watermark on it for now because it's almost finished. lol sorry if I am making you squint too :P. I am not completely happy with it but deadline is looming and I got a ton of other stuff that I need to move on to (*cough*comic*cough*).
Alright, I'm gunna start the final hurrah for my painting after I finish eatting, and I'll do my best with the suggestions given. Im hoping that there will be some pause in the weather where its sunny for like 15 minutes so I can take my pictures outside! If not, what would be the best suggestion for indoor lighting? I would like to avoid as much distortion/unnatural colour as possible.
Also, unrelated, but Tzu put up her cosplay on her deviantart here, for those who don't have it. Amazing as always Tzu! Don't know if it was for the workshop, for the official contest, or just because you like cosplays. But its great.
Now, lets all scorn her for not providing a progress gallery!
Another update after another couple of hours drawing... I'm getting there though ... the undead tomorrow and some shadow and highlight passes and some things here and there
Q_Q THIS THING WONT END. Still, STILL not done. ugh.
I have to do the clouds, and all the frills over again (those will be quick.hopefully). then do little highlights to brighten the piece. Then im done; all this has to be done before i go to work [luckily i have a spare at the end of the day; end school early to paint.
Tomorrow this has to be done, as I have to submit it tomorrow night. GAHH neverworked so much on a piece of art... ever. im some where between 35-40hours for sure.
As always if I have made any mistakes or left something out please pm me.
Edit: somehow the update did not work - I will redo it all tomorrow, I am too sleepy now. Thanks for pointing it out Maio

Thanks, but I just improved on Shakespeare :P
@ DBAA – It is looking really good. It’s a bit late, but might the mouth be a little narrower?
And thanks for linking to Tzu’s I had not seen that. It looks absolutely wonderful. I always think it helps that she looks so natural as a stern faced warrior ^^ Yes what a shame we didn’t get updates I always love seeing how Tzu develops the costume
@ Maio – that’s wonderful. I really like the cat
@ Arghore – I love all the little details in yours..

ok one more wip, before i finish the hell out of it today..i hope
it's with overlayed original sketch of the foreground so it's still somewhat teasing It pretty much hasn't changed from my original sketch, only some minor things like the staff Zombie Horseman is wielding changed from Accursed Staff to this. Also Magi still needs some work to do and some bits in bg i'm not really happy with, and obviously i haven't even started working on that reaper and little frog. Oh and right now the resolution is 1600x1200 but i'm probably going to change it to something more widescreen-ish

I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish in time, so I never thought of taking photos of progress. If anyone wants to know though; I made this the same way I made Dwayna, but less gold and more silver. >.> Craft foam, sealed with PVA, then painted and weathered:
The spikes are paper mache and clay, the blade is paper mache, card, craft foam and clay. Hair is two wigs sewn together and braided to make a poofy norn mane. Fur is fake, weathered very carefully with some inks and dye. Amour is fastened with cloth straps and velcro.
I think that about covers it, but I'd be glad to answer any questions.
I'm really enjoying the work submitted to the workshop so far. Kiya, that dress is amazing. Panelling the corset must've been a real pain. Stouda, beautiful progress on your painting as usual. Minami, I'm glad to see you decided to enter, good job trying something new too. Solid anatomy on the two girls. DeathByArrows, your work has really come to life the past two progress pics, I love the drama. It looks like a helluvalot of work, but it will be worth it in the end! Raven, I love your style! <3

Sorry for being MIA I've been using my free time to finish off my costume, since I hadn't finished it on Sunday for daylight shots D: Unfortunately, I *still* didn't finish the costume yesterday, and I figured yesterday night was my absolute last day to finish since my hubby can't help me take shots today We ended up taking pictures of what I *did* have, but the pics ended up blurry because they're night shots and sharpness filters in PS didn't seem to help any!
So, I'm kinda super bummed that I didn't really finish what I wanted to and the shots didn't come out like I'd hoped… I'm thinking if I make it the pics small enough (I'm making a collage), then hopefully the blur won't be too obvious even though details get lost. Here's an example:
GAH>_< face still so itchy from costume makeup!!!
Also, I'm trying to figure out what kind of background I should photoshop in (I actually cropped the example shot so you all wouldn't see our messy house XD). I was thinking 1) dark blue with some filtered textures or 2) screenshots from game background.
Anyway, I haven't updated my progress page, but I'll try to get that and the Razah story done by the end of the workshop
Sorry for these super late comments! Not sure if any of this is now helpful with everyone finishing up their stuff D: I went back to page 17 so hopefully I got most people that are still posting stuff
@Tzu: Your costume is AMAZING! I was seriously blown away when I saw it! I love that you can make craft foam look like real armor :O
@stouda: I love your painting style! The textured brush you use gives such an eerie feathery/wispy/cloudy effect that's just gorgeous I can't wait to see the whole thing!
@DBAA: I love your painting so far! You did a great job, and I'm even more impressed that you did it the traditional way where it's like you only get 1 shot to get it right :O Your traditional painting skills has really improved! Only advice I can think of is to improve the mouth/nose/eyes so it has more of a 3D effect instead of a cutout - kinda like when you see 3D block letters and you see the side of the letter. In this case, you should see the 3D edge like the yellow edge in Koreena's mask or a slight glow around the edges to show there's light coming out blocking out the edging. Irregardless, your pic looks great
@Arghore: That's such a fun pic! I like the idea of them all sitting at a campfire and the little details like are great
@Maio: Love the pic! It's so fun I did a double-take on the BG. Is that a sreenshot from the game? It fits so perfectly
@Ravenhawk: Aww, your guild pic looks so good! I love how your guild is so close and you draw them so much that it's like we know the characters, too I'm totally impressed you didn't use ref pics for you and your guilds :O
@Odinius: wow, that first shadowy creature model is sooo good :O We'll definitely be seeing your piece on the winner's list for sure You make me want to play with clay, but all my stuff would just be blobby blobs of blobdome.
@KiyaKoreena: Your dress and mask looks so good! I can't believe you were able to do so much is such a short time I like the red over the teal, too
@Noseless: Aww, so cute so far Can't wait for the rest!
@Pandaclaws:
Nice so far! Few suggestions:
1) Split up your story into more paragraph breaks, especially for speaking. It makes it much, much easier to read online since your readers won't see a wall-of-text
2) There are also a few typos that are fairly easy to fix that I changed.
3) I substituted {a creature} for {it}, because at first, it seemed like you were referring to the house and not the mysterious creature. Substitute whatever word you want for {a creature} but not {it} :P
I just did this section in case you weren't interested in a proofing
Example:
Original:
The wind howled in the streets of Kamadan and seemed to follow him in even the smallest corridor. Noah had tried trick-or-treating once more but it turned out to be as futile as last year as nobody would give him or the other children any candy in this city. But there are always heroes and the they are given candy by the townsfolk, he thought to himself. His father had told him that he should earn the candy and not just ask for it. “Here is a scythe. Now go fetch yourself some candy son. “ his father said. But Noah was no fighter and did not have the money to pay for mercenary heroes. He had been trick-or-treating for hours but he was mostly ignored. The most he ever got was a sad smile and a pat on the back. He felt like everyone knew something he did not. Dissapointed he returned home and saw it for the first time. It seemed like a shadow but Noah was not going to take any chances. He knew the stories well, perhaps it was Kjelhe the chained, Hulgard the weary , Greir the frozen or any other monster. Noah was frightened beyond belief and convinced that it was waiting for him in the mist. He ran and kept running but the footsteps did not fade. That is how he ended up shivering in the small pathway between two houses. Too afraid to check what had been chasing him for the last hour and too tired to even lift his head.

@minami: aww, looks great! And you said this was your first time using SAI?! I also like the BG you used and the smoke :O Did you draw the smoke? If so, how did you get the effect?
@Unorthodox: aww, those poor birds That's so freakish that they would actually eat your fake corpses. Totally blows the mind D: I wonder if there's a way to prevent something like that in the future for any other projects you decide to do. This one came out amazing, it's a shame you have to take it down so soon
@geminijusa: awww, I love this pose that you chose! She looks sooooo sweet!
@obastable: lol, those are so cute! Close-up, please
@esperanza orchid: Ooh, checked out your project gallery good luck! The top looks great so far… loving the embroidery
@Rends with tongue: That looks great so far! I hope you can get good shots At first, the texture made me think of wax and how that'd be a cool candle XD
@Marshmallow: omg, lol, you are seriously the queen of chibis XD I love, love your pic so far, especially the polar bear!
@sura: ooh, the red really gives your pic a scary ambience :O (especially with the scars!)
@ rapturous sauerkraut: Great story so far! I would definitely recommend a progress gallery so we can find your latest story easily I'm not going to proofread since Konig already did, but like for Pandaclaws, I'm definitely recommending splitting up paragraphs at speech points to make it easier to read online (avoid wall-of-text when possible).
Example where this used to be one paragraph:
“Well, well, m’boy, your opening act didn’t go off half as bad as it did in rehearsal. To be frank, I expected you to explode the drake again. Although, to be fair, your tidiness covered in beast-guts is funnier by far than the joke’s real punchline. Get me wine, won’t you? Oh! Could you see the Great Prick from where you stood? Was he laughing enough? Was he mad, or merely insane? What of his consort? Did she laugh for the jokes or to keep Thorn company? By Lyssa’s lying lips, you know as well as I do we’re dead if she says a bad word of us. We ought to get that Elonian hag burnt. You’d think it easy enough, from the others.” He was always like that: on-stage, the very definition of deliberation and ease; backstage, manic and a bit dangerous.
I smiled weakly, overwhelmed at the rush of thought. “I’ll get you water, not wine, master. Gods know you had enough this morning.”
He snorted as I began to walk away. “Don’t dodge questions with insults, child. How’d King Prick like the show?”
Though I had turned away, I could almost feel his fearful look on my back. I couldn’t bear it. “Master, I believe that he thought that, well, the King of Kryta, that is, the Prick, as you call him, was of the opinion that your show, well, I think thoughtfully that I ought to think that his thinkful thoughts of your show were rather like a thought that your worried thoughts thought he might have thought.”
Finally done my costume! Waiting for my husband to get some so I can get some proper pictures done. Time to finally have something to eat and then scroll through the thread and look at all the pretties.
Making the gold buttons. (Polymer clay with gold mica powder)
Making the horns. Polymer clay (3 shades) over aluminum foil.
Shading the bottom of the skirt. Might spray on some more to make it more drastic while I wait.
Bodice is finally done!
Finished gloves and boots. I hate sewing gloves.
It rained yesterday and is all gloomy today so I have no idea what to do for the photos now.
@DBAA - Wow, adding the background made the picture really pop. Good job!
@Tzu - Yep nothing left to be said here. Hats off to you girl! Makes me wish I had time and people to cosplay with like in the past.
@Maio - Nice job! I love the girl on the ladder
@Arghore - Awesome! I love the mysterious lighting behind the mountains. And yeah I think the figures could use a little countour highlights behind them because of the secondary light source(s) at the back.
@Stou - Stop teasing us! Well I love it anyway :P
@Thistle - You look gorgeous! You still have one day (tomorrow) to take pics? *not sure of your timezone* and thanks! Glad that I was able to capture their personalities. I RPed with these people for about 2-6 years, so I guess I should know them well by now. ^^
@Kiya - glad you're done with the costume. lol, I thought those buttons were candies because you put the pic right after you said food. Can't wait to see your pics.
Progress:
Well this is pretty much it. I'll just do some tweaks tonight and then submit it. I'll remove the watermark for my official workshop post. Expect it tonight or tomorrow. Critiques are still welcome. Whatever I can't fix, I'll just note them in my head for my next drawings. Again, thanks everyone!
