Incredible drawings Raven. Personally, I like the rit drawing the best, but then again, I have a weak spot for them. I like your use of eye-catching colours, and drawing awesome poses. Can't wait to see more!

Don't get me wrong, I was totally joking on the winning
Though I could never say no to free sketches it would be unfair, I did nothing! Unless you want one of my bads...

Sketches like that only take me 10-20 mins unless I obssess over it ^^.
And on a random note, here's a quick experiment I made coloring without using airbrush. Only did this quickly (think 20 mins) and quite messily but I like how it turned out. Been awhile since I drew full blown anime style.
It's Death Note's Light Yagami

I just saw your thread (I started with the last page), and I went "OMG this is awesome!".
Then I went to the first page to sign up to the list, and went "Awww nooooo it's closed ".
Hopefully I'll be checking in here next time your commission queue is open, I reeeeally want a picture of Minami drawn by you...

Apologies to Nova for the delay in the commission. I started it this weekend and didn't like how it was turning out so I thought I had to make 180 degree turn and start over. I was feeling an impending Art Block coming.
I might change the pose that I had in mind for Nova's piece. For now, I started a new one of my three main characters (I find that's how I usually get over my art block, draw something very familiar to me and a scene that paints a story in my head.). They are all my Role Play characters and they met at the Northern Wall. So this scene is actually them getting cornered by the Charr...I wrote a story about it but it's still in progress. So yes, the Ranger and the Mesmer are probably familiar to you guys. The third is my monk Dani. (Which needs to have a wand and her arm possibly fixed lol)
I am targetting to finish this one either today or tomorrow then finally restart Nova's drawing. I now figured out what I did 'wrong' when I started that commission while working on this random piece.
Close up. Just threw in some random colors that I am going to take out lol

Yay thanks for understanding. Yeah I tend to experiment a lot in my pieces and when I try it on unfamiliar ground (e.g. someone else's characters), I tend to stop over and re-think myself a LOT. There's a slightly different coloring style that I want to try out for this personal piece and I want to see how it works first before moving to yours. Shouldn't take long hopefully since I feel inspired to draw again

Can't spend as much time on it as I wanted to *blames day job lol* but it's coming along just fine. Here's a cropped version. I think I am liking this new coloring style. Still rough and monk's arm needs to be fixed =P

Thanks StormX.
It's not as much as it was with the sepia tone (I am not even sure if it's going to stay that way until the end atm lol) but what I did differently (so far) is not use air/soft brush to paint/shade. The rough/hard brush seems to give the drawing much more edge (no pun intended).
It looks less realistic but I like the comicbook art feel to it.

Ah, i see the difference now. The outlines are more clearly defined. may i ask what brush you use to do the lineart though? or is it scanned? i've tried drawing with tablet, but i keep getting pixelly looking lines nomatter how high the resolution

Thanks! I tried to convey their personalities in their poses/facial expressions. I've had these three characters for several years now and I am very attached to them (especially the mesmer and the ranger. The monk..well, she's not 'here' anymore).
Maybe I'll post the story that inspired this scene here at Nolani so you guys can know more about them. But then I am afraid my grammar sucks (doesn't help that English is only my second language either).

For the lineart, depends on the software you use. I use sketchbook pro for the lineart since I like how responsive it is (My computer probably can't handle photoshop for initial sketching/lineart so I have to use a more lightweight software).
If you use photoshop, there's a brush that is called Pen Pressure I think. You can then adjust the opacity, flow settings as you see fit as well.
Also what I find really helpful is putting a piece of paper on top of your pen tablet while doing your sketch. It has that pencil on paper feeling that gives me more control (cos I have shaky hands)
