Thank you to everyone who voted for me, and to Thistle and Arghore for being such amazing organizers and hosts. I look forward to reading all of your comments (provided I can get them from thistle ;]) and was glad people found my comments and suggestions beneficial
One of the most fun workshops and workshop parties I've ever gotten to participate in. Really great job!

I want to give my congratulations as well. However, not just to the winners, to everyone who joined, watched, participated, and donated in the thread! In my book everyone is a winner. As long as you tried you best and completed what you said you would do, then you are a winner! There were so many wonderful entries. I know the judges had their hands full.
This workshop shows how dedicated the Guild Wars community truly is. Moreover, it shows how much talent lurks around. There were an assortment of disciplines shown in this thread. I hope these types of workshops will continue in the near future and beyond.
Finally, thank you Arena Net and Thistle. Thistle you were a lovely host. You did a remarkable job <3. And ArenaNet for creating a game which we can all enjoy and give our thanks to.

Congrats to the winners for winning in this year's Wintersday Workshop, and huge congrats and awesome job to everyone!
It was super fun looking through the entries, and waiting alongside you all to see who's gonna be winning what category
Thistle did a fantastic job being the host of the workshop, thank you! You are awesome
Thanks goes to the hosts of the party, and Arghore, and Aeronwen, for their continuing support of the artists of Nolani *clap clap clap clap* We luv you guys!
(I received several PMs during the party from friends who couldn't participate in the workshop due to time restraints [I KNEW I wasn't the only one, LOL], I know exactly how you feel guys! Hope to see you all in the next Workshop!! The world always needs more art )
Congrats again to the winners, very deserving of your places in the winners' list, EXCELLENT JOB!

Congrats to all the winners ! ... and i'm glad to read you all enjoyed the party, to which i have to give a big tnx to the gaming world entertainment network (gw-en.com radio) without whom i would have had a pretty hard time doing everything we did now ... and i also want to thank those people that donated to the workshop & party, pretty much everything went to some-one as a nice prize.
I am also amazed that i actually won something, that was a complete surprize and i feel honoured that you all value my efforts so much ^^
With GW2 at our doorstep i hope Anet will continue this tradition, and if not, i do hope our community continues this tradition in gw2. I realy enjoy both the workshops (halloween/ wintersday) either to stimulate me to do some art, and especially to see all the great stuff you guys produce, and thus i hope they both will continue for many more years to come!
Last is a thanks to ArenaNet for making the game at first and supporting it for as long as they do, and also starting these two competitions that all lead to this ... good job! *cough*, now hurry with that GW2 release *cough*

The "In the Spirit of Wintersday" prize winner and runner up...
The winner is: K tec girl (aka (Kate))
* awesome job, with a heart warming scene and chilling details & cave realy cool piece of work...
Prize:
The Runner up is: Djembe Kaki Lambe
* Cookies! But that is not why i picked it: Those that know cooking know it is some what of an art, to then make something that also looks like 'art' in relation to this workshop... realy cool and they look yummie too! ... ohw and ofcourse is cooking/baking a big part of wintersday
Prize:
If you could please send me a PM here on guru we will figure out a time/place to get you your prizes !
* Add runner up, due to the fact that i had some stuffz left from donations that were given specificly to the workshop/party, Thistle made the excellent idea to give them out as a runner up to this prize, i added some things to liven it up a bit, and also made some adjustments to the 1st prize to balance it all out.

OK! Finally all done! All comments, winners, prizes are here as well as the script I was madly trying to copy and paste from to announce the winners
For all those wondering, those weird pauses between my messages were because I would get message suppression errors for sending too many messages in a short time XD They were not for dramatic effect! I should have taken a screenie of this one in particular:
Quote:
<snip>
This person's positive attitude, friendly advice, and amazing artistic talent truly
shows this award is theirs and theirs alone.
Message suppressed due to too many messages.
Message suppressed due to too many messages.

I am very happy to give this award to *Morag D*!

Anyway, thank you all for making the workshop so successful! Since I've been asked several times today, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed being this year's host, but I *will not* be hosting again in the future so if anyone wants to take on the next workshop, please feel free to!
For all the winners who won Anet-donated prizes, I have passed your forum names to Kvinna, and she will take care of you with that. Please don't ask me about EL Reindeer tonics or any of the other RL prizes, because I really have no idea. Please be patient and wait until Kvinna contacts you
Thank you, everyone, for making the workshop so much fun to host!
EDIT: Oops! How could I forget? I want to give a quick thank you to Jenn and GWGuru for giving me a shiny new green name tag last week Thank you!

Hiya Thistle, i added my runner up to the post above, and i also made some changes to the 1st prize to balance everything out. Could you include the name of the runner up in the OP and change the 'link' to point to the post above, that sould do ^^
And gratz to Djembe, seeing i didn't figure there'd be stuff left, i didn't know this prize would excist and thus couldn't announce it during the party, so i hope this is a pleasant surprize for you ^^

Hey Guys
I see Thistle already posted about her not being able to do the workshops anymore.
Wishing her and her family happy and healthy times to come <3
Hopefully GW2 will be out before the upcoming Halloween and Wintersday festivities!
We will, naturally, continue having the Workshops.
I look forward to organizing again (RL permitting, of course) here on GWGuru and on GW2Guru (or only in one place for both games together, depending on when GW2 comes out), and taking on team members ^_^
Hope to see everyone around here and on GW2Guru!

Thistle did an amazing job of this workshop, she volunteered before we knew about the Anet prizes and that added a lot of work and stress but she rose to the challenge admirably.
I had a great time at the party, thanks so much for all your hard work Arghore and the gaming world entertainment network

@Aeronwen & @Arghore: Would you guys be interested in helping out with future GW and GW2 workshops?
Whether it's here on over at GW2Guru?
Both your help is invaluable

This was an awesome workshop, and I thought it was lovely that so many people entered this year, though I did find it a pity that RL got in the way for some of the participants and they never got to begin or in other cases finnish. Thank you guys for entering anyway ^^ and those who never entered, thanks for showing support.
So I wonder... Does anyone feel like setting up and/or joining a canthan newyear workshop? I could go for hosting it, but only if there's an interest for it.
