@Rahtshini Lol it's good. Dora is a cute character. Well it must be the head and eye shape/proportions plus the skin tone that remind me so much of Dora. Don't worry it's looking awesome!

@DarkOverlord welcome back! wings are tough. If you can, try to get your hands on some actual bird feathers. At the very least visit a pet shop and take some pics of birds. Reference helps alot. reference helps a lot. reference Helps a-lot.

It's worth repeating.

Barring any post completion inspiration I believe I can call this piece done. Of course if you guys have any helpful tips I'm all ears like an Asura. You can see it in the last two blog posts (the movie file isn't as high res as the still art).

I usually work in comic, and manga styles (ink and all) so doing something with a painterly concept art approach is fun, and different for me. I'm really glad we have this workshop

haha it's so fun to see that everyone's speeding up now with the deadline looming... including myself >.< I won't post an update anymore, it's on the other pc now, but I reckon I'll finish some time tonight or tomorrow [FINGERS CROSSED!]

@Muzai The text is a little hard to read. Does it say 'Everlasting herostopper"? *the H should be capitalized aswell o:* But overall its looking much better. I like the addition of grenth in the background, very eerie!

@Dalili That looks great! When you know you're finished, copy/paste (you can get it by quoting her) the 'completion' sign-banner-mark-thingy with your post for everyone to see in the thread :3 And I'm glad you enjoyed the workshop, they're always loads of fun!

As Wintersday officially ends on the second wikilink, i would say it stays 2nd at noon.
Edit: i just realised that the post talks about the "day of the last Wintersday Finale event". As the last event start 12:01 am on the 2nd, i hope the deadline is still at noon on the 2nd...

Trying to photograph it was a huge pain in the rear. The 'in the dark' pictures just did not want to happen. That and depending on the angle the blue and green LED lights would disappear from the shot like the strand had been turned off. Now for a nap before work.

I LIKE DIS PAINTING.

So i'm actually kind of excited for this. Usually I don't get excited over my work as I always see these big flaws too late (there are definetly flaws here as well, btw). But this one I just seem to care about the flaws. I'm just havin a blast with it :3 Good way to end the year I'd say, for such a s****y year. (keepin it PG!)

Any suggestions for the ice? It looks very strange.

^^ i think the blue is just too dark & uniform is all. it's kind of hard to tell where your light is coming from, too.

Oh dear, I didn't think there'd still be confusion on this, because I've said the workshop ends on Mon, Jan 2, 2012, noon PST in so many posts now XD

To clarify, Rahtschini, you're quoting the tentative deadline, before I knew what the last Wintersday Finale event was (that announcement is dated Nov 30, 2011 and that's an official Guru notice I can't change). Sura is quoting the actual firm deadline, which was announced on Dec 15, 2011, when I knew the last Finale event.

Sooo, for all those panicking, don't panic! Deadline is Mon, Jan 2, 2012, noon PST

That will also be when judging officially starts and when I will accept judging sheets
