I'm back! Finally returned to town after my usual friends and family Xmas trip. And now the deadline is looming so it's last minute attempt to finish. Why does this always happen? qq
Anyway here's the start of the inking. I updated my progress gallery http://imageshack.us/g/705/wintersdaysketch01drove.jpg/.
And I realize that I hate wings.
I hope the mistletoe is visible once it's colored.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to look at all the other cool entries. But I did catch KiyaKoreena's - That plushie was just too adorable LOL!

@ satomz . Those bottles and steins are so cute!
---
Waiting for paint to dry is so annoying..... Guess I should catch up on chores while I am waiting. Or do a few more MPB runs.
EDIT: Playing around with the lighting and rearranging still.

I actually have a coat like that (style not color), so if it'd help I can snap a pic of how it would actually drape standing in such a position.

Hello everybody,
Thistle has been so nice to give me a link (bottom of the 1st post in this thread (the OP)) to one of my posts in this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...&postcount=564
So i can keep those interested in the Workshop Party informed, i have made some changes and updates and will continue to do so untill everything is finalized.
If you feel the need to donate items to either the Workshop and/or the Party, please PM both me and Thistle with details. The 'deadline' for donations to the workshop prizes is around 2jan; You can decide up untill the end of the party if you want to donate items to the party . If you feel the need to give out the items yourself, please contact me to discuss how best to do so, so we don't have to many things running at the same time or double activities.
Remains to be said: Good luck on those last hours everybody !!

Well... I got Skyrim for Christmas and suddenly it was December 30th... woops! Anyway, I just sanded down the metal so it looked shinier, glued together the metal pieces with a special metal glue I found, and sanded down a flat edge onto some jewelry key rings I got. Tomorrow, one my "high-tech" glue is dried I will glue the rings onto the back and paint the darn thing. I'll post the pictures soon. Skyrim... calls...
@Satomz How did you make those?
P.S. I already have over 100 hours on Skyrim >.>

Got started a bit tonight.
I decided to switch up nick's outfit. Make it a wee bit more festive.
So heres the gameplan:
The gift is going to be emitting an orange/warm light. It'll hit mostly nick and his walking stick. The 'podium' he's on will be made of ice/covered in snow. So it'll be blue.
So it gets a nice contrast in complimentary colour to draw attention to the gift itself, and the fact that IT is the important part of the piece.
I don't know what to do for the background. I was thinking just a dark blue gradient, but thats very boring. I don't know, we'll see. I don't want it to be too noisy.
Also, I can just forsee the grentch being awful. Just awful. So sorry in advance ^^#

Maybe you could try to make it look like an enormous cavern.

Nother update
@Olrun A cave background could work, the only problem I see with that is all the reflective lighting that will be caused by the gift bouncing off the cave walls. I fear that might become too complex.
@Marsh Thats looking great! Just keep working at it and I'm sure you'll get done! Heck, I didn't have a sketch until this morning at 2am. If I can do it, you can do it too
@Obastable I really like the snowball rolling in the snow ^^ It fills that space very nicely. Also, my cat does that with our ornaments on our tree. We have ornaments scattered in different rooms simply because our cat will roll it around our house.

@Rahtschini I can't stop seeing Dora the Explorer when I look at this.
@Marshmallow keep trying. If you're going for the chibi/bdj look then it's working well. No matter what an artist is going to put their own spin on any given style.

Edit: I don't know what Dora the explorer is, but now I know it^^ I don't think the asura look like her oO Why do you think that?^^
Background will other like Rata Sum in Wintersday^^

Satomz, the fruit cake looks like it had a sugar glaze, I do mine like that sometimes.
Muzai, I love the concept but I agree with the others that Gwen looks ‘stretched’ Also there is something odd about the angle of her legs.
DBAA, It’s looking good, such a fun pic.
Valdis, I just meant a little less blood on the hand so Dwayna’s crown was more obvious, I am no artist though – I could be very wrong about that.

So, this will be the final version.
I've up and expanded his chest, and tried to enlarge her arms. I hope you find her prettier.
I do not know if the text is easy to read, otherwise I'll change it.
