What I finally decided on was that Dwayna would make a far better gift-giver than any of my alternatives. Btw i think it would be more interesting if Gwen will sit down in a yoga position and receive her gift ~gwen and her gift wich she received from Dwayna in the middle of paper as a center point of view. rushing and tearing her gift and around her pieces of the wrapped present floating around:P.And above Dwayna watching wich joy

Hey all, since I was just asked, I have family visiting until Jan 4th so I'm not checking and updating the thread as much as I have earlier and have been updating once every other day at the minimum. If you've made an entry and posted it, you're in the workshop, even if there's a delay in seeing it in the first post (also check before sending me a PM since I sort entries according to entry form completeness and don't just add you to the bottom of the list) :P

Soooo... please don't send me panicky/complainy PMs, because I'm doing the best I can when I can XD!

Also, if someone misses this post, and is asks "WTH is Thistle, it's been 24 hours since I've posted my entry," please let them know to be patient, because I do sit down and go through posts finding entries, updating, and answering questions whenever I get a chance

Thistle; thank you for all the hard work you are putting into maintaining the workshop! You are currently doing a spectacular job at keeping everything up-to-date, welcoming newcomers, and answering questions for the newcomers!

It's ok Thistle. We all overstand that you, like everyone else will spend time with your family. The rest of us will keep the camaraderie alive while you are away/busy.

Btw everyone here's a post of my progress. I like it so far, but I might change the finger placement on my Asura. It just seems a bit off to me.

amazing new stuff! lots of crafting people out there this year, that's great! I feel like a minority with my digital image now

Anyway, (and completely workshop-unrelated) here's what's been holding me up since I got home... I hadn't machine-sewn anything since high school, and between you and me, that's some time ago. Took ages to work out kinks but I'm soooo pleased with how it turned out

I also have a tiny workshop update. Finished my background colouring; still unsure whether to put in all that blue, but it has to look like a Dwayna piece at some point...

still soooo much to doooo.... O.o

Holy Scrooge...

I left here for a few days and when i return, there is so much happened.
There are many many beautiful and interesting things in progress, i'm very excited to see the final versions

Well, i was really busy the last time, so i had a bad delay in posting my progress.

Well, after all i finished my Dwayna model -and rendered the animation...

Caused by my poor CPU (Athlon 965 qudcore - should rather do it - but it does NOT) every frame took more than 5 minutes to render... so the animation of dwayna took more than 10 hours of heavy load cpu usage...

So please - i know it is not perfect, but there is still no time for a second try ^^

I GOT SOME SKETCHES DONE. FINALLY! Theyre all super rough right now though; literally just getting ideas down on paper.

Bad scanner is bad. So heres a description of each.
1. Snowman Summoners are being spammed; from the perspective of the falling snowman. This is one of the ones that doesn't fall right, and gets destroyed. But more like BODYSLAAAMMMMM!
2.The Wintersday Tree in Lions arch. I like this general concept, but worked around more. I just feel like it would draw too many similarities to Stoudaa's wonderful halloween piece and I don't want to feel like I'm trying to steal their concept. So we'll see. Especially because I had this layout, and thought of having kids run to the presents.
You know, like stoudaa's. o-o /needs work
3. This is one I had in my head. I was thinking of doing a close up of a Wintersday Tree (this ones from EotN, but really theyre the same). I didn't have an idea for the background though... and it has no foreground.
4. Yakkington and Nicholas riding through the sky. Inreference to Santa and his reindeer, obviously, except Prof. Yakkington has the strength and magic of all 8 reindeer. because he's THAT awesome. I feel like i don't have the abilities to make this as intense as I'm imagining, though, and may save it for another year. It needs to be very expressive and articulate to work.

Merely kicked out the old (nonexistant) background and toned the colours down a bit (just for now at least) and I feel like I'm almost looking at a completely new picture
