Of corse if it is actually worthless (it is ded) then I understand if you guys don't want it

That's so sweet, but don't feel at all pressured to donate, especially since you're just starting out Chat with me ingame (ign: Thistle Xandra) if you super strongly want to make a donation, but like I said, since you're still new to the game, I'm personally more inclined to give you stuff to help you get going and enjoy the game rather than taking your stuff when you're going to need it

Anywho, back on topic: Valdis, that is looking really good! Really like the details in the face. The chest is also looking good. I feel like something is off in the shoulders... but I just cant pick out what is is.
Dobby; those sketches for the puppets looked awesome. Why were they so top heavy, where the heads solid the whole way through?
Since they are puppets you could leave the head a little hollow, and support it with your fingers. Might help the problem (unless you found another solution)
And for me. STILL NOTHING. my laptop is going to take two weeks to repair, so I moved my desktop to a location in our house with internet. So I have internet now, might start doing research this week for ideas.

Agreed on the chest, it's looking much better! Just needs fine details (or for the rest to match it's level of detail).
And I can pick out what's wrong with the shoulders - aside from the fact they're just sketches that is. The sketchings make it look like a fur cloak's padding, whereas the actual Avatar of Grenth has 3 skulls in front and one on the side (or something like that), not fur.
As for me and my story, Thanksgiving weekend was a bust in terms of writing. I was either distracted by little 10 year old and younger cousins, distracted by projects with far easier stepping stones *coughwikicough*, or just unable to think of anything. I got two stories I need to write, this one being the second priority, so bleh! Neither is started. >.<

Yeah, I sorry about that D:
The sketch doesnt really depict correctly what I was drawing... XD
There are skulls on the shoulders, and I've actually colored on of the with the base colors. Its a metal spaulder that has skulls and such. So it looks right, just not in the sketch :]
I've also added in a good amount of detail to the chest since posting it up.

@Thistle: I just asked Regina on MSN about the MKG mini, and she said this:
Quote:
Livia said (2:05 PM)
Hi Regina
I'm writing to you in regards to the Wintersday Art Workshop on GWGuru, and one of your winners of the Halloween contest, Thistle Xandra (hers was the Danika costume entry).
Since I have you on my MSN, she asked me if I could ask you about donating her Mad King Thorn miniature (which she didn't accept because of the release form) to the workshop as a prize?
Regina Buenaobra said (2:06 PM)
I beleive, legally, the prizes are non transferable, even if the winner forfeits the prize.
Livia said (2:06 PM)
ahh, ok I'll let her know! Thanks for the answer
Regina Buenaobra says (2:07 PM)
If she wanted to claim the prize, she could then donate it to the Guru thing.
Livia says (2:08 PM)
She said she didn't accept the prize release form because she had to give her SSN and she wasn't comfortable in writing it down and sending it over the internet. (She blamed it on her pregnancy that makes her a bit paranoid ^_^ ).
Livia says (2:09 PM)
So I guess the mini will then go to the next winner in line.
|
Hope this helps a bit
EDIT: Sorry the way I put the "blame on the pregnancy", it's one of those days where the English language has a way of eluding me with the proper words and terms. >_<

HAHAHA, that's OK but I blame my human subjects training where we are super protective over subject personal identification info more XD
Thanks for checking for me and solving that mystery At least next in line will still get the mini

Real life attacked me again! I'm ALMOST signed up for University this Spring. I'm waiting on them to look over a few things and I will hopefully get my student login so I can sign up for classes this week. D: I haven't had much, if any time to decide what I really want to do for the workshop. I still would like to write but I haven't written anything in so long. /excuses

Everything is going insane IRL, I really hope I'll have time to make my entry soon, and be able to finish! I hope Anet won't have a super short deadline like the Halloween one was, otherwise I can't do it.

nice pickle. Whatever the reasons, I agree with your decision, Thistle.
I'm really busy again, didn't even have time to touch a pen over the weekend >.< I'm quite looking forward to working on my entry some more, let's see how this week goes.
@Valdis: looks cool, but I think his arms are very long...

Heh, only took me 16 days to find this workshop. Not that I've been into GW for weeks... I'm not having much work with school, I might just get something done but I can't say for sure. It may just as well be so that I'll show up in a couple of months for the next time.
Sign me up anyway;
Hey, Thistle! I want to participate in the workshop!
Name: Oh_Frustration
Idea for entry: vague, very vague if anything
Art form type: traditional

Good Eve, travellers! I have a quest for thee in the form of this picture:
Let me elaborated; I still can NOT figure out how to adjust any of my settings for my tablet with my computer.
First problem: Those damn annoying ripples when i click! They only occur with my pen, not my mouse. I can not change the properties of my pen because the box is greyed out. There are no options available to change this in either the Pointer/Mouse or Wacom Tablet settings (in the control panel). You can see examples of such behaviour encircled; those are the best print screens I could get :| The left one starts small, and expands to the size of the other two in a ripple (thing dropping a stone in a still puddle). This did not/does not occur on my laptop, and never has.
Problem 2: Everywhere I look, I hear people talking about how changing your pressure in hand can be set to change the opacity/amount of 'ink' applied; just like with a pencil. However, I've never had this occur with the settings always shown in tutorials and such. This hazard triangle (circled in yellow) appears to be warning me that something is wrong.
What is wrong, and how can I change it? An example of how my pen works can be seen... below that. A soft, almost not touching the tablet pressure to a hard, drilling into the tablet pressure. Provides a smooth, even line. No change whatsoever.
If you cant see it is Shape Dynamics-->Size Jitter--> Control:Pen Pressure.
Could anyone help me? I have a feeling the second one is why I have such a hard time adjusting to from traditional to digital, and the first is just REALLY annoying. :/

I've always wanted a tablet but never really went and got one. Been putting my munnies into camera stuff instead.
I think I have an idea... Koss holding a snowflake, looking puzzled. Gonna need a high-res closeup of his face.

@death - may seem obvious but have you tried re-installing the software? Second I would search forums/sites for updates/bug fixes.
I'll try and enter this time permitting, what closing date are we looking at?
