Update Numbah TWO! Took me a while to get started today. Am done with lineart, just laid down skin layer. Am calling it quits for the evening. The picture itself is fun, but I have to say... much as I love Asuran armor (got it on the Rit and the Derv), it's a pain in the butt to draw! All those teeny details... I smoothed a few of them out, but tried to stick pretty close to the original. Fortunately, despite all those patterns, it's only a few different colors, so that should go quickly, especially since I'm only doing three-tone shading. Actually, it's at two-tone now; I might choose that instead if it looks good; we'll have to see. So basically 3 or 4 more color layers to do - estimated 25-30 minutes? Started at 10 this evening, now 11, so still on track timewise.
'Night, folks.
Update Numbah Three: IT'S DONE! YAY! Took a bit longer than expected on the color since I was duplicating layers and what have you and trying to get the shading to work out right. It's good now though. As I thought it might, the hair has more shading than anything else, because I go overboard on hair. That's probably good, though, because without the highlights it would be too dark. Anyway if the 3-tone hair and 2-tone everything else bugs you I can probably go back and add highlights on the rest, though I accidentally saved the RIF after I merged the layers so I'd have to just work from the one or add new ones. Other than that I think it turned out well, and I didn't make the glasses look really idiotic (which usually happens when I draw glasses, say for a self-portrait or something), and the hands are decent compared to many I've done. Also, you have to look hard, but there are sparklies on the staff head (was just going to have them inside but I went a little nutso... anyway, no those aren't stray marks they're there on purpose). And... apparently the light source is below her and in the direction she's facing. Maybe she is healing someone who is knocked down and on fire?

That looks very cool, thanks!
Yeah, I like your choice. I've always like the spellcasting animation for the monks. And you included my old healing staff that I got from the collector outside of Port Sledge all that time ago. Sweet!

Aww, thanks.
I know, I found the monk influx kind of odd too. Especially considering that, aside from little Spoon Legs, you rarely see monks in these parts at all. Normally art patronage is the realm of necromancers, rangers, and mesmers from what I've seen (excluding Araiia who gets commissions from like half the Guru population... *jealous*). I like monks, though, and their armor likes me (I still haven't gotten over my old obsession with tunic-pants sets and large pauldrons/yokes, so it's perfect).
BTW people I have a three-day weekend next week because of Labor Day, and there's no archery on Saturday morning for the same reason, so you can bet I'll be doodling then! Might work on my picture for the contest if I don't have any commissions...

I'm reopening this, as summertime is supremely boring and I can once again watch Xena while drawing (brand new laptop yayaya).
Check the front page for information.

Yes'm. I'm mostly using the cash for my skill hunting now, so I don't need huge wads. Mostly this is for fun (but I do want a little for my troubles ).

I take it you want full colored then?
I'll get to work on it soon.
EDIT: Oh! And cartoon or semi-realistic? (I might drop this soon as the two are increasingly running into each other, but I'll still give the choice for now)

Ran
Bust, Full color.
Eyes a deep red, [5c1600] might be a good reference.
The rest I leave to you. I'll harass you via PM for extra details when that time comes.

Oooh, I would love to do an art-trade with you. A full-colour body or a full-colour bust, whichever you'd be up for. I'm also willing to pay, if you'd rather have money than art. You can find examples of my art here.
I would like you to draw my mesmer, For Great Beauty. I'm currently on a vacation in Sydney and won't be back home until Sunday to take better reference photos, but I have this one already up in Photobucket. I will update this post with better screenies once I can log onto GW again.

Sounds great! I'll put you down for a fullbody. What sort of character do you like most to draw? I've got everything but a sin. I can give you some screenies tomorrow when I'm on my computer.
I'm starting work on the first commission tonight.

Well.... I like drawing spellcasters (because you can always have fun doing spell effects and such with them), but others are fun too. It's really up to you who you'd like drawn, I'm not picky.

I'll take one full-color, full-body semi-realistic of my warrior, Darcy Sa Renn.
She's on the serious side as she is the eldest of this Sa Renn family adventuring group and feels compelled to watch over the others. She has a good sense of humor and enjoys an occasional party. She helps anyone who asks and is very generous with her belongings.
She likes her non-elite Kurzick armor best and usually equips a Chaos Axe and a Gloom Shield. The axe has a medium blue tinge and the shield is undyed.

Added Darcy to the list. Sorry I've been slow on working; I havent' had as much time as I would have liked. I hope to have the lineart for InfestedHydralisk's picture done today.
Perynne, I think I'll have you do Jenna, my ele. I'll message you the refs, though, because there're a bunch (she's the skill hunter, so she's all elements and all classes and very nearly has a weapon and armor for each). I'll let you pick which you want her to be for the picture.
