Before I finish my owed art though, I'm testing a new style that I thought about during the trip.

Here's the first one, a semi painty lineart with solid colour background and white flats.

I haven't suddenly acquired new skills overnight (or over 2 weeks without a tablet for that matter), it's a different application of the techniques I already know :]

The way I draw faces has changed a bit, though. I was looking through some of my old sketch books (yes, once upon a time I drew with pencil and paper! >_>) that I brought along during the trip, and I was surprised at how much I still like some of those drawings. I've lost/replaced some of my old knowledge, and now I'm trying to bring it back.

Having said that I'm working on a 800x600 waist-up of your ele, plus partially hand drawn background. Pretty happy with how it's coming out so far.

OMG, I LOVE this! *hugs, hugs, HUGS!* You are so amazingly talented, and I can't believe it only took you 5 hours to make something like this! It's such a wonderful surprise to see it done and so fast!

I've been working on my half for 3 hrs nonstop and I only have a half-idea and unfinished and messy lineart that needs serious sprucing XD Do you want my half posted at the end as a surprise or do you want me to post wips as I move along?

<333 thanks! I was really inspired this afternoon, which is why it got done so fast. Sometimes I can draw over several days and end up with a sloppy result. \:

The pose and layout was in my mind from the very beginning, so I didn't spend much time planning and sketching before jumping to lineart. It's completely up to you o: I'm generally not in the habit of posting WIPs of my art but if it's something you like to do, then go for it.

p.s. I didn't mention much about my Mesmer's personality in the ref pic post on your thread; if it's not too late I'd like to add that she's supposed to be underweight, and carries herself with the demeanor of an egret. (I'll let you decide how to interpret that!)

Arrrgh, sorry for the style change! I started out trying to draw in my old "new chibi" style but realized that style isn't suited for expressive emotions at all. I hope it's still okay, I realize the eyes are even more exaggerated than my other chibi styles.
