Another new arena - Crystal Overlook. Inspired by a visit to Death Valley a few years back.

Lovely but aren't those birds huge?
Anyhow I thought you were too busy to draw?

@Death: It's just some swamp gas reflecting off Venus. Move along.
@Urania: Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind in the future. Are you referring to the surface textures, organization of the mountains or a combo of both?
@Aero: I see the birds as spread out in terms of depth - mostly foreground and middleground. If they were placed lower in front of the rocks, maybe that would better express what plane they're in so their size isn't so ambiguous.
And I was too busy to draw during summer classes. But now that those are over and Fall semester has started, all I've been doing lately is drawing

Meh, I don't really feeling like entering this year. My two studio classes are keeping me pretty busy on my off days, and I'd like to work on other things during whatever free time I have left.

Whoa that's a big file. Some fun ink and brush sketches. The cowboy ones are pencil.
Assignment for one of my classes - 30 pages of live drawings with hats and heads as subjects. Used myself and a couple of friends as models.

So great. Screw ANet, just submit THAT as your halloween contest entry. Break their website, break their website!

@Hail: Glad you like it. Sorry it took so long for me to get finish animating, lol.
@Toms: This is exactly why they have teams of artists to do these kind of things - definitely not feasible to take on four jobs at once, lol. It was 12 seconds long at first, but after time-remapping it shrunk down a whole lot. After working on something like this you can really appreciate all the work art teams have to go through; drawing, animation, sfx, sound, etc.
@DBA: If I could I'd like to submit this to the Halloween contest, but I feel like that would be kind of a cop out. Though I would like to break their website and delay the results by a couple of hours again.

I dont see why there would be a problem with submitting this to the contest. Last year, penguin made his entry in april or something because he couldnt make time in october. It certainly fits the theme and is original artwork; no reason you couldnt win some computer parts for the effort. LOL
Sidenote: i cant seem to watch the whole thing smoothly, its too much for my computer (to be fair, my computer sucks.) :/

Hm, I see your point. I think I might submit it just for the purpose of having some of the Anet staff to see my work. I don't know what any of the rewards are - haven't really checked the thread or the official announcement.
As for it playing smoothly on your comp, it's probably just because it's a large file.

Hardly a cop out. This is something you've put forth a lot of effort in. I say submit it and take top spot.
