The progressions pics are so neat to see. :-) They provide great motivation showing that awesome things will come when you don't quit after step one (like me. hehehe)

It's usually always that first step that's the hardest - deciding the composition of the piece and where it'll eventually lead to.

I run into that problem pretty often, but it's best to just keep moving through it. Pleasant surprises will start to appear in the end.

It's using the same idea with the in-game afflicted warriors how they're missing their lower jaw. I didn't feel like doing an identical copy because it's better/more rewarding to make things up on the spot.

Still working on finding a middle ground of mixing the two together through brushes and layer techniques. As much fun as taking my time with monstrous renders can be, such a stretched timeline doesn't really seem possible in the job realm with employers wanting quick results. I REALLY don't want to create a handicap for myself where a weeks worth of my work can be done by another person in just a few hours.

I'll find that mix though - it's only been slightly over three months since I started digi art.

The afflicted boss looks awesome :3
I must admit though, at first, before I went through the progress pictures, I thought the afflicted guy was standing in front of the samurai dude, making it look more like they're partners in crime than mortal enemies. Maybe making the silhouette of the samurai a bit harder and more distinct, especially where it meets with the afflicted, would help create a distance between them. Atmosphere helps too.

Here's House to keep you motivated:

Hah, that House dance always gets me.

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. I'll remember that the next time I use a similar composition. I think in the next one, moving the hero further in front of whatever creature would emphasize that.

It's definitely way more fun doing speed paints. I think most of my focus on details just went into the shading on the Afflicted boss and playing around with layer settings. Besides that, everything went by pretty quick.

Busy with midterms. Here's a snip-it from a three panel piece for my Illustration final. The theme is fairytales shown through the artist's own interpretation. The picture should be self-explanatory.

I'll come back with the full shots when I'm done with the third panel.

The big bad wolve vs. Little Red Riding Hood? :3

Somehow the red person looks a bit male to me, not sure who it is, but having the fairytale tip, I could make a guess. Looks like a fierce small boy, reminds me of Link Looks very good though, I really love the brushes you use. This is for school?

Yeah, that's pretty awesome, kinda like Little Red, the Fearless. Kinda like Hoodwinked saying that she could fight back.
