Charlie's Action Fighter!
I've changed this into a personal WIP thread as to avoid thread spam.
Progress shots will appear throughout the thread and will be accompanied by the final product in the above character select.
The number one factor that gets me to draw a character is a unique identity for which I can create a concept design. The main purpose with these works is for the practice and creating portfolio material.
To anyone interested in having their characters included, feel free to PM me. The more information (background, weapons, personality, etc) you provide, the better.
Current Wait List (In no particular order)

Reylasparta?
Anyways, it looks really good so far, love her expression. Armour looks badass, and her hair has got some lovely details.
Looking forward to seeing more progress, please post here as you go!

Pretty fun actually
I wanted to get more fully rendered works in color, so the tablet seemed right up my ally. Sure is nice not having to deal with clean up and what not.

Funny as I have gotten the same tablet recently as well and still trying to learn it. I am not nearly as good as you though lol. Here's my best effort so far:

Starting to get used to it and beginning to find my groundings. Another shot, but still not revealing everything. I'll just post whatever I have finished by the end of the day.

Gotta love that gold sheen on the armour. It's great to see that your style is still easily reckognisable even as you get settled with the digital ways. ^-^ /cheer

Thanks Tzu. I'm also "trying" to use a bit of the GW art as an influence here - not really sure if it's all that visible though. Trying to make something that looks as if it could be GW art.

Yeah, it definitely takes some getting used to. With enough practice though, I'm sure the control will eventually come to you.
Only thing that worries me is this pen nib. I'm certain I'm not pressing down too hard on it, but it looks like it's wearing down awfully fast...
EDIT: Deleted the double post. More progress.

This is amazing for your first piece in photoshop. What medium(s) were you working in before?

Thanks, though this really isn't my "first" PS piece. I've done work in Photoshop before, but I've never tried doing everything entirely from scratch. Before this, all of my other works are done in traditional medium: pencil, pen, paint, etc.

Hahaha. Love that you found a way to draw reyla a beard and stay on topic at the same time. xD It looks much more fitting imo.

Here comes the Cataphracts.
EDIT: Changed the image after altering Reyla's collar armor. Since the work really started to change mid-way through, I didn't much care for the old collar design. I also wanted to include her Lion's Shield, but it doesn't quite fit in with how I want it - next best solution was to include the lion on her sash.

Looks like this will be the last WIP shot before I go at the background. Really happy with how it's progressed from the early shyte stages.

Just a roll of the dice I guess I have my dad's side of the family to thank for a creative brain.
Other than this, the only legitimate digital work I've done was player reskins for Counterstrike waaaaay back in the day. But those weren't nearly as difficult since they were not made from a blank palette.
