Hey all,

I played Guild Wars for a while about a year ago, and managed to get my Mo/Me to level 18...before getting bored. About 3 months ago, I started playing World of Warcraft, and just quit a few days ago (after discovering that WoW steals souls). Well, on a whim I re-installed Guild Wars, and now have a strong urge to play again. I was curious: is there an active roleplaying community in Guild Wars? If so, I'd definitely be interested.

Thanks for the Link, it is good to see there are dedicated RPers in GW. RPing being a great way to experience an MMO. I've been missing my old WoW guild for this reason alone (players, not the game)--best RP experience ever, but as mentioned above: WoW is a Stealer of Souls.

Beautifully done Guild site, Calaval. Best I've ever seen.

How is it possible that there are so many (atleast in my oppinion many) people wanting to roleplay, and I still see so little of it happening? is it because we are all in closed groups? never to interact with eachother, not even on a base that could go outside the timeline that you might be following? is it because we are affraid? Shy? I know that GW isn't as Roleplay suportive as we all would like(you know special chat channels for roleplay ect.). Why people? Why is it that (in the big picture) roleplay is still on the background? there are enough international districts that are empty, even more since the Asian districts where introduced.

Right now, I am dying to roleplay. I left my old guild in hopes of finding a new RP guild, but haven't quite found one that fits like I was hoping. Is the already low-populated roleplaying community dying off? If anybody has a guild, can reccomend a good one, or just wants to RP one on one, I would be happy to.

I see some good, some less good RP guilds. I think it would be best if we all united in an off-game association so we could keep in contact and RP with eachother cross-guild whenever fitting, and get to know each others characters.
I could create a basic forum for this if anyone's interested.

I think there's too few of us to be separated, and too many to leave it a lost case.

I want most of my gameplay to be roleplay.

Well this is the one thing that has given me a love hate relationship with this game. It has such an amazing backstory and driven storyline but I have yet to bump into a roleplayer(that I've seen) in the year that I've been playing. I've left do to not having the interest of the Roleplay but get drawn back by the amazing story and game style. Ya I've done the WoW thing but after doing that since it's beta, it's old and I still have yet to see the end of prophecies.

Mostly what I'm looking for is a fun, medium/heavy roleplay guild. I am an experienced roleplayer coming from a very active WoW roleplay alliance spanning several guilds but I'd like to experience the GW point of view.

I am limited to prophecies(My goal was to finish this version, move onto NF then EOTN but that has yet to pan out yet). If anyone is seeking an experienced roleplayer please feel free to contact me ingame. It would be a nice change from simply pugging my way around with morons or henchies.

I'm just going to warn ya'll.
There's some insane guilds out there...I was invited into one and me and my mates are laughing about it.
So when your friends tell you there's "cult" guilds out there, belive them and don't join.

Good luck finding a normal RP/PvP guild tho

I've been looking everywhere since I left my old one...

What if I told you there's a site in the works seeking to do exactly this? It would create a common playground for all RPers to contribute and collaborate on character lore, list and bio RP guilds and characters, list RP events, and have a common place to interact with JUST the RP community. Of course, members from various parts of the vast but sparse RP community would be asked to moderate and contribute, so no particular guild or RP style would drive the others away. What would you all think?

Anyone know districts commonly used to organize RP groups? I know I've seen a group of RPers organize together in an international server, an unpopulated one.

I wish I looked at the roleplaying part of the forum a while ago.

A good friend and i just started a roleplaying guild a few weeks ago. It's been so hard trying to find other people either willing to try and or willing to do so. Just... maybe I haven't been looking in the proper places.

I'm rather interested in role playing as many others on this thread. Sure, the RP-communities within different MMORPG are not exactly in vast majority. It's hard enough to find a good RP guild in any game outside WoW today. WoW does a great job supporting RP with dedicated RP servers and such.
But those servers are overcrowded with non-rp'ers anyway. The only reason it's easy to find contact in WoW is that there's a bunch of millions playing it.

So, since I'm so friggin' tired of WoW, I though "Hey, let's download that old Guild Wars and see what kind of RP I can find there."
Because seriously, WoW might be a distinctive game, but the semi-parody style and attitude of the environments and players themselves is something I grow tired of. I wanna do Role Playing, not Role Humor Sketching. Sure there's insanely hardcore RP-guilds over there, I've hung out with many of them, but in the end it's just not something for me. Guild Wars just feels like a better place to RP. Even though it doesn't have dedicated RP servers and very limited RP-encouraging content.

BUT, let's get back to my LFRP-intention.

I've been roleplaying since a very long time. Both on text-based dedicated RP forums (may 99% of them rest in peace) and in online games. I think myself as rather seasoned.
I always rather english role playing before any other language, simply because I only know one other than that, which is my native language. And trying to find other SWEDISH roleplaying guilds would be even more insanely hard.

What I'm going at is that English aren't my native language. That's why I type some incorrect things here and there. I know that correct grammar is a fundamental stepstone in RP so I'm doing my best. As far as I know, my spelling and vocabulary are satisfying and I don't really say "is" instead of "are", that's basics. Overall I think my english is quite good. Perhaps good enough. Years of heavy RP has passed and I haven't recieved any notable complaints on the way I speak/type.

Now I don't think a heavy RP guild in GW would fit me, simply because I've second-to-none knowledge about the GW lore. Other than that I swallow any weight in RP

I'm also stuck on Prophecies at the moment, haven't played the game enough to make it worth buying the exp. packs anyway. Although if I find a nice, consistent and fun RP guild, I'll sure think it over

My overall activity in the game is not at all satisfying, but that's something I can justify. I used to play the game together with a special someone around two years ago. Three I think even. And since we stopped I haven't touched it since. As said, got the game back today to give the RP a try.
I can make a full-hearted promise that if I find a good RP guild, my activity will sky-rocket. :]

As it says on the left, my main character is called Chaia Talon. She's currently a level 14 R/Mo stuck in Borlis Pass. ^^'

I'm looking for some RP players but not quite looking to join an RP guild since I am already in one and not ready to leave. I've RP'ed for at least a couple years now and since my last RP guild broke up and the last of them aren't around anymore, I'm looking for some fresh faces. I'm an aspiring writer in RL and I find that RP helps with the creative process and to keep those writing skills in check.

Please send me a PM if you or your group has room for another. I love to RP in game or in a forum setting if you have access to one. (I'm currently setting up a forum so that might be another option but it won't be done for a little while.)

Im not sure if people are still coming through here to look for info, but i have some.

I have started up a 100% RP guild in GW, and setting it up to have its own small economy. I am looking for loyal members because i have a lot of positions open that need to be filled, from Civilians, to Royal guards, and council members. I will Post more Info if anyone would like it. I am currently setting my whole Town up, but am looking for another RP guild or alliance for future merger. if anyone is interested in RP-ing with us, please feel free to contact me. i would really like to get this town up and running as soon as possible, so we can all RP!

Jobs looking for but not limited too:
Guards
High Guards
Royal Guards > need a lot of them
Merchants
Farmers and/or civilians > need a lot of them
Council Members > willing to understand the laws being places
Nobels > basically economics team, to make sure its running smoothly

For the years I've been playing this game, i've encountered very few true and dedicated roleplayers. I love to Roleplay, i've accomplished everything i want in the game, with points of trying to find people to Roleplay with throughout. I'm looking for a dedicated guild or group to roleplay with on a semi-regular basis. I am open to any kind of Roleplaying. I've been Roleplaying for many years and am very experienced. It has been quite a while since I have frequented this particular forum. I have had some great, some good and some not so good RP experiences. Most of which were a very fun learning experiences. Not so much learning how to RP, but learning to deal with different kinds of people with different ideas. My first try in finding Roleplay, failed... miserably... but I had the time of my life. It was a two person guild and our recruiting techiques were hilarious. Afterward we joined an alliance... in which things did not go as planed. Which is sad, a lot of work was put into it. Luckily, I joined a guild, I am quite fond of, it is a fairly decent size... maybe a bit over forty members. We (Orphans of Kukai) have weekly events usually and monthly as well. My advice...to anyone still looking. Keep looking and do not be afraid to find some of these people in game. I myself would love to meet new roleplayers.

Now that I've completed much of what I want to with the game, and my remaining characters are hinging on friends, I'd enjoy a little roleplay, I think. Nothing steady (my schedule is horrrific), just a oneshot "random encounter" of a few people seeking the same goal here and there.
I've never officially RP'd before, but I do D&D, so I'm used to filtering decisions through my character's mind, and (as my guildies can tell you) I have a habit of dropping into the mindset and mannerisms of whatever character I'm running.

My characters you're most likely to find me playing are Gui Qiang (probably the character I'd use for RP if it's Factions or EotN), Jennarose Mashaba, Medea the Younger, and Simone Abdelmalak.

I'm already part of a newly started roleplaying-centric guild but of course I wouldn't mind joining in a non-guild based roleplaying plot or even just having fun and roleplaying in an outpost for the fun of it.

Around most days but due to a newly started computer course and doing that terribly frightening task of "looking for Real life job" that may all start to change.
