Thought I'd pick up this thread again...

I'm new to this forum and somewhat to GuildWars as well, but not to roleplay. And one of the things I'd love to do is to roleplay this game since it has got such great potential for roleplay. The problem, or so it seems to me, is the lack of a place to rp and OOC'ers getting involved in IC happenings.
I have spent quite some time playing SWG and the roleplaying community on the server I'm on is so lucky to have a whole city to itself for roleplay, but this seems unlikely to be the case with GuildWars... What I've read, though, is that people roleplay, and I just had a few questions I hope someone could answer for me...
1) Is there a proper roleplaying guild out and about, and how does it, in that case, operate?
2) How to deal with OOC'ers, spam and advertising in a city/outpost/town etc. Because there's a lot of it...
3) Is roleplay limited to cities only, or does one operate in groups doing quests and roleplaying this?

I would, as I said, love to roleplay this game and it would be great to find people to roleplay regularly with.

Not sure if it fits in with the theme of role playing but my guildmates and I are working on a video/comic series and could use a few more people. I've posted our first vid already. If interested in helping out just look up riftbreaker raven or gray revenshade in game or just post a reply in the video thread. We will be checking back in every now and then.

The Sacred Heroes have recently decided that we are going to hold either weekly or bi-weekly Roleplaying Nights, available for participation by our guild and our alliance members. All are welcome if they're just starting, or are an experienced roleplayer, since we have a mixture of both in our guild.

Umm... Hi...

I'm 16 and still pretty new to this game and trying to learn as much as possible about it (Last time I checked the /age had the account for a little over 2 months.) but certainly not roleplaying. I've rped on forums off and on for about 4-5 years now and always wanted to rp in an actuall rpg game. I seemed to have nothing but trouble every time I tried (with being flamed and all) so I just stopped trying. I have Factions and recently got Profecies. I'm very active, during school I'm usually on around 3:00 PST but since it's summer you can catch me whenever.

I'm really interested in finding a guild that I can roleplay in, I'm willing to leave my current guild where I'm an officer and be IC all the time. Granted, my main character who is a level 20 E/Me doesn't have a roleplay name and neither does my N/Mo who I just started. But my R/W (whose secondar i will change as soon as i get to the factions missions) and my A/Mo do. I love to roleplay and can be very mature should it be required. I can't stand hand outs and would rather work for what I need.

Forever Knight caught my interest. But as I was reading through the site one of the rules stated that I had to be 18 or older. So I suppose that ruled me out.

My second choice would be The Serpants Sorrows and normally I would submit an application. But I'm just not sure what they're looking for.

In short, are there any other guilds out there? I'll probably continue looking through this post and edit my reply as I see more. Pm me here or catch me in game. I'll usually be on my main, Clairvoyant Disease.

It's nice to know that other teens enjoy roleplaying, I was beginning to think I was the only one. I would also like to find a guild with an In-Character-All-The-Time sort of play, but I am very loyal to my current guild, and would not like to leave them. Since it is summer now, I'm more into the roleplaying and writing thing than during the school year, and would like to find another roleplayer or two to hang around and roleplay with, since my guildies aren't into it too well, and most of them are just learning the art. If anyone would be interested in making a group that meets maybe once or twice a week, I'd be happy to help organize the meetings and such, just drop me a line, here at guru or in-game: Aerily of Myst.

Free-RP Zones

24/7 drop in role-playing locations!

After some discussion and consideration by a group of members of the GWRPA it has been decided to re-establish Free-RP Zones. These are locations where 24 hours a day and 365 days a year role-players can drop in and role-play with any other role-players in these locations. These locations are Tsumei Village, Shing Jea, Cantha International District 1 and Bergen Hotsprings, Kryta, Tyria International 1. We ask that while role-playing in these locations you keep your role-play in public (In All Channel), and your role-play storyline so that others can join in. Please avoid private role-plays in these places as they are meant to allow role-players to join in role-playing with any other role-players in these places. We would also appreciate other role-players helping us spread awareness of these places so all role-players not just the GWRPA can join in and enjoy the role-playing we hope to promote there.

GWRPA? Most likely Guild Wars Role-Player's Association? Never heard of em..and that's quite sad since I am one myself..they seem like good people if they're setting up join-in-any-time-role-play-only spots. I might have to check those out! Thanks Calaval!

My tip would be if you've enjoyed role-playing with someone at an RP zone, add them to your friends list.

If you find yourself there alone whisper them with an invite to a zone. I've done this many a time, making a once empty zone full of rpers, with many of whom I've never met.

Feel free to bring along a friend or a guild mate, even if its their first time at role-playing, we all had to start somewhere.

I lead a small RPing guild that needs stable members...

I have met Garria or Storm Crow and probably a few people from the three meet and greets that are hosted during the Week. If you want to look up one of the Silver Cirlce Alliance guilds check out Saturdays and Wednesdays. Kingdom of Numenor a much smaller and open free style Rp alliance hosts on on Fridays.

Also check out the RP free zones at Bergens and Tsumei!

Im looking to roleplay aswell,in game name is Noru Kalora,i play him the most,youl meet my alts to probably but i think that if you add one the rest pops up in the friends list aswell(handy,that)

The thing is..well,quite frankly if i start roleplaying out in public areas there will be some bad consequences i think.

Im amazed at the lack though,every game has roleplayers and i have no idea why Guild Wars dous not..and theres not realy any way to justify it..its just amazing.
