First thing I noticed about it? The color of the "This Preview Is Approved" screen is wrong. Not sure what that's about.
Some very shiny cinematography and editing, there. A lot of familiar and favorite faces. Would have almost preferred if the "RUN!" hadn't been included and that the only dialogue was Buscemi's, which sums up the premise of the film.
Looking through it again, some very nice visuals. I just hope it isn't plagued with Matrix-heads bitching about "Hey, people on racks! Mental worlds! Copywright infringement! Already done before!". That and I do like Michael Bay's directing, so I'd like for this to do well. However, I've concerns about that trailer showing way too much. I mean, we already know the subjugated populace escapes their "made to order" worlds. What more can happen beyond that?
Also, one preposterous image: Michael Duncan being dragged by the IV tubes connected to him by two faceless people wearing identical trainers? Are you kidding me? That guy's an ox. ...and also in Armageddon, another Bay film.
However, I like the premise and it'd certainly be the type of film I'd work on if I were in the industry already. This ought to be a good movie season, what with Sin City also coming out shortly and Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money in production.

Ooooh baby, Spaceballs 2. Now that's good clean family entertainment right there. Sin City looked pretty "on the edge," in terms of what direction the film is taking.
Ring 2 is out right now, War of the Worlds is coming out (again) soon, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is coming out. Looks like it's shaping up to be a good summer for movies.

Hitchhikers, that'd be the film I was thinking of when I said this'd be a good movie season. As it's partially done and fully approved posthumously by Douglas Adams, I am absolutely looking forward to it.
As for War Of The Worlds...aheh. I have reservations about a film /loosely based/ on a prank radio event. I'd have much preferred had Spielberg simply titled it something original rather than go for the recognizeable name. Also, how many shots did they have of the little girl getting her mouth covered in that trailer? Is this a summer action blockbuster or "Pedophilia: The Documentary"?
And yes, that was a joke. You can laugh.

OK, so I know that you said towards the end of your post that it was a joking, but it made it seem that you were saying that about the girl having her mouth covered/"Pedophilia" comment, so I was inclined to post again.
Yes, The War of the Worlds was broadcast over the radio by Orson Wells before in 1938, which caused all of the panic and hysteria, which you referred to in your post. But it doesn't seem like you know that there actually is a book entitled The War of the Worlds, written by H.G. Wells in 1898 and was widely popular among the growing science fiction ("pulp") community. The book is quite famous, and I'm really hoping that you were joking about it just being a radio event...

I was under the impression it was influenced by the infamous broadcast, not the novel.
And yes, I'm fully aware of author H. G. Wells' text.

I saw the previews for The Island and it looks great. That plus Star Wars Episode 3 (I still have hope for this one), Kingdom of Heaven, Hitchiker's Guide, Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Sin City coming out this year (plus movies I haven't heard about yet but will be good) I'm gonna be spending too much on movies.
Spaceballs 2? I haven't heard anything about that yet. I loved the first one, hopefully this one will be just as good.

What's sad is I'll probably go see this movie just because Sean Bean is in it.
...cuz he was f**king Boromir, that's why!
