If you listen to the dialog in the cutscenes, you'll hear the official pronounciation. I believe it's something close to "as-ka-lawn".

This game is one of the first MMORPGs to introduce a nice storyline. If you do not listen to the cut scenes, you need to be slapped.

I pronounce Lions Arch as Lions Ark. It sounded WEIRD when I heard it pronounced as Arch.

A good storyline is a standard feature of RPGs in general, this is neither something new nor is GW one of the first to feature it. MMORPGs are frequently lacking in this feature due to their format, but this isn't a problem for GW since GW isn't an MMORPG, at least not in the traditional sense (and in any sense it could be considered an MMORPG, so was Diablo II, which also had a storyline). So this isn't exactly something new, this is par for the course for the kind of game GW is, and a solid part of the tradition of games it comes from.
Oh, and, "Hi Skippy!"

I still like calling it 'the big city where we all started'
And I'm not changing for some mind controlling storyline. This aluminum foil hat actually works!
