Well there was no way to keep the public (us SWG players) completely happy with that game, because the ultimate WANT for every player was to experience being a Jedi....or the chance to be. Unfortunately everyone loses site of reality - - it was based on the movie/storyline therefore there are actually very few Jedi be it light or dark......so they jacked things up giving out those cubes, hinting that by Mastering 3 professions may be the key to unlocking your FS slot....and forcing the grinds....OMG they took GRIND to an OBSCENE level.
At the same time, it was/probably still is one of the most beautiful games I've ever or will ever see. Graphics were next generation, comparison of game to things you saw in the movies - near mirror image, expansive landscapes, and always seemed to be people eager to group for BIG game hunting that was required - Kryats, Sand Peoples Fort, Night Sisters etc.
Just too many winey lil sissies getting things nerfed or changed because it wasn't something their chosen profession had, or the sometimes unbalance of skills in a chosen combat class (early on the eyeshot/mindshot, later the Fireknockdown) but again a gorgeous game that I would have liked to continue playing for the flight expansion time just to see how they made it work.

I played the game for about a year over the space of 18 months and NEVER had ANY intrest in being a jedi. Jedi are PVP characters basicly, and I and most of the rest of the players had NO intrest in PVP. Aslo Guild wars looks better than SWG. But SWG DID have the best crafting system i have ever sene in ANY game. Shame they had to ruin it. I'm sure the pvp crowd will try and ruin this game too.

I played SWG for a long time on Bria (Zesen). It was the first MMO I ever played and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute up until they released the CU. I had 3 accts which I have since cancelled. The saddest thing was that I got my jedi literally the weekend before they pushed the CU to live. On the bright side I at least got to kill something with a lightsaber before quitting. Since then I've logged in maybe once or twice just to give away my stuff.

I LOVED SWG!!!! I pre order it and when it came out...I had no life. LOL. I was so sucked into it. I would wake up, play for like 3hrs, Go to work at 7am and come home and play it till like 3am. and do the samething. It was the best game i ever played back then...And sstill to this day, i have these sudden urges to play it. But the last time i played (2months) ago the community was dead and now after seeing Episoide3 i had an urge to play and i seen the Admins broke something so yah...but i loved it,
Master Bounty hunter, Pisotoler, Master scout
I had so many profession but my favorit was Master tailor! it was soo fun

I played swg since launch, My main character was named "Banzia" on the intrepid server.. i never tried for a jedi like the majority of people did, Then after i drew a few pictures (with paint), on the swg forums (which was said have no relation with your swg ingame account) i got perma banned.
I got hold of another acount and came back as "aiznab" i luved to pvp, its what i did most of my time. when pvp started turning into jedi wars i made him a big ass jedi beater (defense stacker with a 1.4k dmg pike). I loved it, it was great... and then BAM! the cu comes and kills it all off .. i tried the cu for about 2/3 weeks it just wasn't the swg i baught and loved to play for the pass 2 years.
It still annoys me that they would change the entire combat system. I payed just under £10 a month to play the game as it was. I kept playing and paying because i liked the game the way it was. In my personal opinion they destroyed a great game, and its a damn shame
But now im with Guildwars .... so come get some!!!

It won't include any expansion packs (3 out right now). If you do buy them, then the fees kick in. I have two accounts in that game right now, both are AFK for probley 1 year and 2 years. (I scrweed up and made a new account when I bought Shadowlands instead of adding that expansion onto my Notum Wars / Original game. *Sigh*)
My favorite game ever. Not sure if I would ever get back into it.
