I don't see how you can do anything though even with a concealed weapon if the guys are really close, if they see it they'll just slice you in the neck.

what goes around comes around, i have learned that for a fact. They will get theirs in the end. It is like when u would lie to you parents so to keep u out of hot water, they ALWAYS found out. every action has a re-action.
Be proud that u were alert and sensing they were scoping you out.

My problem is that my pride feeds off the wrong things when it should be me just being alive and having friends who don't care how I am. It's a little hard to change your attitude like that but I guess this experience should open my mind to change.

I wish I was a little more aggressive but fact of the matter is, i'm not. It's not me to fight or even want to fight. It may seem chicken to some but I think it's just smart since fighting one person just causes more problems, eventually they get friends on you, etc. I'm more of a pacifist.

You acted hesitant so they'd get impatient, so that they'd take little and run while they could. No common thief is going to slit your throat in open public and try to get away with it. And as I said before, I've got a shitload of pride and would chance it anyway...even though that's definately not the smartest thing to do. Then again, dieing because of $20 isn't really a great way to die for a prideful person so I don't know what I'd do.

I'm agreeing with Pie on this one...I too have a large amount of pride, and someone who wants it will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
The thing is, pride is usually wrong. You acted rationally and intelligently, that SHOULD be the "correct" answer. You should feel good about yourself.

Thanks well it's just a little confusing on how I'll be able to meet my gf from now on because i'm obviously a main target over there. Also do you think being even a bit nervous was only because it was the first time it happend to me or it's just natural for everyone to be?

Yeah Tyrant you did the right thing I'd have to say, at least by your situation it was the right thing. Like apparently Manadar, just got too much pride to just let someone pull that shit off. And I'll also for the most part agree with Azman, pride does suck. Only halfway though, while pride can get you in a shitload of trouble (death) it's also great to have a good amount of self esteem. I think everyone should have a certain amount of pride. Just...not to the point where they'd die for it. Having too much pride makes you feel like you better have a worthy death, like me...I sure as HELL better not die from a disease or something. It'll be a cold day in hell when I let a disease do me in, I want a meaningful death. Pride's the reason I refuse to have my body rot in the ground after I die, cremation all the way for me.

I feel as though it doesn't matter how I die because if people only remember from how I die, then they obviously don't know me. It's not how you die, it's how you live. I really have no self esteem, it's hard to when so many people with egos talk around you and say how successful they are and how good they do, I face reality and know I don't do too good, whether it be in school or anything else. I guess there is alot for me to learn.

Self-esteem is very important (and healthy). Here is a little exercise that can help: just read the following lines:
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
OMG YOU ROCK
Exercise done (repeat if necessary)

Pride can be deadly to us, and it can also be helpful in many ways. This is true for many things, such as patience and courage. Too much courage not tempered by reason is deadly to us and all around us, and if you are patient for too long, you will miss your chance to execute a decision that could save you. Wise mentor aside though, what you did was brilliant Tyrant. Goes to show that knowing ones opponent, even if it's only a little, can help in some form. You played the cards you had, and came out with little damage done to you. Nicely done

Wow, if that's exercise I should see my doctor as to why I'm not stronger. Seriously though, even when I'm not good at something it's just like "Well I might not have a clue about whatever the hell these people are talkin' about, but hell, I'm PieXags, I'll go read up on it and learn that when I feel like it." To be good at things you have to know you're capable of it, and just go and try it. I like to think that I'm capable of doing anything I could dream of if I work at it. (Except maybe reaching the highest lvl in every RPG to date, that's impossible.)
The key to self esteem is to realize your faults only as much as your talents. Know yourself better than anyone else, and you have...one more thing about you that nobody else knows. Hahaha...good stuff.
And WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's true. I really don't have alot of self-esteem. When something bad happends, I just say "it's because i'm stupid". But I will try some how to get it up, I don't know how I will but I'm sure I can(there's a boost right there ).
