Somehow I don't think that would be on the list of someone going out of their way to be intentionally cruel.

If you want to know where I'm really coming from then look above at my initial response:
"I think it's endearing.
I suspect it's NOT so unbearable that it's spoiling the whole relationship - he's just mentioning it for laughs. Synthos said it best, "The things we do for love." Sounds like he's resigned to just living with it. It's just endearing.
My ex-girlfriend used to complain about my snoring, and I would complain about how I couldn't sleep because her leg always twitched at night kicking me in the process. Now we are separated on opposite coasts of the US but still talk. And we both confess that we miss those little annoyances about each other.
If he really loves her he'd miss her "awful" singing if they ever broke up (heaven forbid). "

You know you have to come back to threads like these, cos you know what the OP was about.. but you're wondering how in the hell has it managed to get onto page 2...
My advice? Put up with it. And punish yourself for talking about her in a public place behind her back. I can't imagine how hurt she'd be if she found out.

Oh nevermind, I think we're on different pages.
I'd read your post, and I think the same holds true as well.
I just have a tendency to lose my train of thought and have my mind get displaced in another dimension, and end up going entirely off-track of what I was originally thinking O_o;
It's a curse. (I am NOT ditzy, either >_< Just, umm... Pass.)
You're a witty poster, and I don't think I've ended up taking anything you've posted poorly.
Back on topic, lest I get side-tracked (And forced to compliment anyone else; I do so hate giving out compliments. I'm not prone to insult people, but I am stingy with them.), tell us how it goes eventually. Everyone loves a happy ending, even if it's not the banshee being consumed by the dragon o_O Ok, that one was definitely just mean (and no, I didn't mean it at all.). How about the prince helps the princess find her place, and they live happily ever after?

Sounds like something I'd do.
EDIT: To actually add to the conversation, I think honesty is good, but you may just want to keep it to yourself to be the safest.

He's neurotic but that's just a shtick.
People can dispise him for hitching up with Mia Farrow's adopted daughter (whom he took no part in raising) - but, professionally, he's a very intelligent writer and articulate speaker.
His early films are hilarious - Love and Death takes place in 18th century Russia and works as pure slapstick, but is 1000 times funnier if you realize how it spoofs Russian literary classics such as War and Peace, Crime and Punishment and Fathers and Sons. Even so, it's all lowbrow humor not unlike Young Frankenstein.

I thought of another idea - it comes in two stages; mean and horrible.
Mean: Record her singing and then play it back to her so she can hear it. Or use a camera so she can see it too.
Horrible: Play it back when friends are around saying something like "watch her great singing video" or persuede her to send it in to a record label and wait for it to get rejected *very evil indeed*

another though
evil: everytime she sings plug your ears and scream at the top of your lungs when se complains say what you were doing it
uber evil: Tell her the truth that you will leave her if she ever sings again...
or as a smart way be honest but nice about it you could say she sucks or you could say that someday she will be a great singer if she keeps trying both say shes not god et but one will get you god things one will get you kicked in the groin
