Talking Cheer for me. I just cut my guild wars CD's! Dumb? I don't think so. Hehe :)

Hi guys,

I don't know how ur reactions will be. But I just want to tell u guys that I have just cut both CD's (original CD's I bought of course). I just feel that my life has been up side down for the past few weeks, have been constantly running short of time and deprived of sleep. Due to what? Excessive (or addictive) gaming of course.

To save myself from this black hole, I decided to use the most radical method: destroying those CD's. I prefer having a normal life and I will probably perform much better at work and in studies (I am a future physician).

So, forget all these green item farming (Razorstone and all). Remember: everything is virtual in the game. U can be super rich in the game but poor like a dog in real life. U will get true happiness from real life and not from the game. Don't waste too much of ur precious life on this. Have a walk in the park would be much better for ur own health. If u want to play, do it with moderation...

Bye
Real Aspirin

Aye, so you'd better uninstall it before you come crawling back to it...

I can really see where the OP is coming from with this, Guild Wars has had a serious effect on my social life too and i've suffered a lot of late nights recently because of this game.

The secret to this game is moderation. Enjoy the game by all means, but don't let it take over your life, have some will power. I have cut down the number of hours recently and I feel all the better for it, and I actually enjoy the game more as a result too.

You dont need the cd to play, you can start again with client, and you can actually make money by selling the stuff on ebay. However, youd have to live in mexico or china to actually think youre getting a lot by ebay...

A video game, as with any form of entertainment, is only as much of an intrusion to your daily life as you let it. But I am familiar with the demands of medical school and residency, and I commend you for acknowledging your limited ability to exercise some degree of self-discipline when it comes to gaming.

Go forth and do well. And when you're all done (7+ years from now) you can invest in a top-notch gaming PC and play all those games you once assumed you'd outgrow.

The most intensive gamer I ever knew was an Interventional Radiologist I worked with at a top-notch hospital. Here was a man who earned 400k+ annually and travelled the world on a regular basis. He and I both shared an passion in architecture, illustration & design (I used to study Industrial Design at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco), world travel and a shameless interest in PC gaming.
