Chrono Trigger(OMG no one has mentioned this!)
Battlefield 2
Final Fantasy 6
Metal Gear Solid
Besides Chrono Trigger being my favorite game of all time, it's in no particular order.

Secret of Mana, multiplayer RPG done right, and done 10 years ago :P
King of Fighters 97/98, ultimate 2d fighting game.
Virtua Fighter 2, ultimate 3d fighting game (that isnt soul caliber 2, which is also the ultimate 3d fighting game.)
Devil May Cry 1/3, Handguns + Sword combos? Why didnt anyone think of it sooner?
Total Annihilation. Massive scale and perfect style and control system that has never been seen since.
Nothing from blizzard. They sark.
Not CS. It also sarks.

I gotta toss in a vote for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This was the first game I ever played that as soon as I beat it... I started it again! I've completed it four times now, and I still manage to find new things in it. Too bad LucasArts rushed Obsidian and forced them to put out KOTOR 2 before it was finished.

I liked it fine... but if Obsidian would've been given the time to fix the bugs and finished all the quests, it would've been BETTER. But LucasArts wanted it out for Christmas, so we got a buggy, half-finished game. :P

I tried RIFTS once in my table-top RPG days. It confused the crap out of me. Everything seemed so massive and overpowered. It kind of reminded me of Warhammer 40k in it's "over the top" nature. Now Shadowrun... that was a fun one. I had a lot of fun with that until my group dumped it for a new D&D campaign. Stupid D&D... so overrated.

THERE ARE SOOO MANY TO CHOSE FROM!! So ill give a few.
Civilization obviously, its funny to play Civ3 and see how ironically weak the Americans are compared to the Iroquois that they historically almost destroyed.
All sonic as they are pure classics, along with Zelda.
But the Greatest game of all time has got to be with out a doubt, The Elder Scrolls, I was playing Morrowind virtually everyday from release until Oblivion was announced.
