Never listen to what those snooty big shot critics have to say - they look for art where art is not needed - and this is coming from a guy who works with art for a living.
Some old fart out there would give that Herbie remake a 10 out of 10 just because he likes family values and the c0cktease that is Lowhan *ew*, and something like The Matrix a 2 out of 10, just because he can't understand it.
If you want a review that'll reflect what you think, ask somebody who's in your generation and who likes the same crap you do.

I agree with what you'd said, except:
1.) I would bed Lohan in a heartbeat (before she became anorexic and blonde... and only if she'd let me ).
2.) Matrix 2 was crap for several reasons. While the first Matrix was a nice balance of pontification and action, Matrix 2 was a load of pseudo-intellectual hogwash. It's not because I didn't understand it, but because I understood every word. They kept saying the same things over and over again in different ways just because it sounded "intellectual." In a way it was like listening to a George Winston (Windham Hill) album - the same dumb theme over and over with the occasional chord change. I kept catching my self saying "STFU, you pretentious asses" out loud in the theater - I was talking to the writers.
And that fella with that obviously obnoxiously fake French accent (a la Pepe le Pue) and attitude should have been shot in his first scene (at least he knew how to cuss). His character was an embarassment.
Even the much anticipated CG fightscenes looked .... like CG. The CG Neo didn't look real at all - and I really, really tried to like it.
Gloria Foster (?) who played the Oracle in the first film was the most genuinely strong and sincere character IMO. She died, unfortunately, before the last film. And her illness is somewhat apparent in Matrix 2.
Matrix 2 stunk to high heaven.

I saw Doom last night, and I'm gonna have to totally agree with Echo Sex. It wasn't nearly as bad as the critics thought. It was a pretty fun ride for me and would watch it again. I will also be buying this on DVD.

I will have to say that I really enjoyed this movie.
From telefragging to BFG, it payed a lot of homage to the game
How many people have shot their self in the head when you looked into the mirror in doom3? I know I did! :P

Looking back I must've misread your post. I saw the number "2" and thought you were praising "Matrix 2." My bad. I should read more carefully.
But it still felt good to let that all out ....

I saw DOOM on Sunday. I was really tired and fell asleep halfway through. Was woken up by my friends gf and we both laughed at the movie from that point on. Bad action, bad acting, bad story, bad movie. Yeah the second Matrix was pretty bad

Once you've played the games in the doom series, I don't care how neato it looks in cgi, it isn't the game anymore, and it would be against my principles to acknowledge this film as anything but marketing and profteering on a sure thing.
I'll stick to the games, thanks.
