To be honest, I've always wanted to go to an anime convention once.
Just seems like a fun and different way to spend a day.
That many people wear costumes is a non-issue to me. It's like wearing a Halloween costume to a Halloween party, and costume parties aren't bashed.
Many of the people who attend those conventions are in contact with other attendees, they all share a common interest. They might act crazy, dress oddly, or do weird things, but to be honest, most people act quite differently in groups of friends than they do when they're alone or among strangers, so I can't see how anyone could hold it against them.
Glad to hear you had fun, zehly.
About how long was it, and what kind of other activities were there?
Having never been to such a convention, I must confess to being ignorant as to common events at them. Would never have guessed a video game tournament o_O
