I play tenor also, but if its down to tenor players, then yes I'd pick Coltrane. I'm also a fan of Cannonball Adderly, but I gotta stick with the original, Charlie Parker.

If i had to say i look up to someone (i idolize no living being) it would be serge from system of a down. He is prophetical in his writing. Not to mention he is out there living the dream. Well serge and Anne rice for her morbidly entertaining writing style. I collect rare first editions hardbacks from her. Mostly signed.

I just picked up some of Charliie Parker's work... I like Coltrane and Elliot's playing style a bit better... but man, Charlie Parker certainly is on a par with them on skill...
I kind of idolize Dan Donnigan (guitarist in Disturbed) and Dave Draiman (vocalist in Disturbed).
