Of all of the languages to come out of the European world, English is probably the hardest because it breaks so many of its own rules. I'd think any of the latin languages would be the easiest, from Europe, followed by German in a close second.
Note: I'm not including Russian as a European language, and it is probably ridiculously hard since you have to learn a different alphabet, cyrillic.
(And no I didn't read any of the posts above this outside of the first few so please do not comment that I posted something that someone else posted or anything like that.)

Hahaha, here's a thought. Maybe english teachers are just better at teaching their language than other teachers are at teaching other languages?

Romance languages are usually fairly simple due to their (fairly) standard rules, and the similarities between them. English is difficult because it is a "bastard" language. It's not truly Romance, or Germanic, or anything else. It's a combination of several different roots. That's why you get so many irregularities and very few standard rules. Asian languages are difficult due to the huge "alphabet". Instead of constructing words from letters, you start basically with the words themselves. This requires a lot more capability for memorization.

While you wouldn't think so from observing how most people use it, I'd say English is on the easier end of things. Granted, to get it right is quite difficult, but to nail all the nuances of any language is tough.
In my experience, one piece that makes English easier than German for sure is that there are no genders for nouns. 'The' is always 'the'. No 'der', no 'die', no 'das', and no conjugations of them for all the different cases and such.

First of all, asian "characters" are pictograms - you can often get a sense of a character's meaning from its component parts. It's not as difficult as you might assume.
But there are some alphabets in Asian languages (e.g. Japanese Hirangana, Thai Alphabet etc.).
Until you actually study a language it's hard to say if it's so difficult to learn. The grammar of Chinese, for example, is so simple you can learn the basic sentance constructions in one day. In western language you have to learn verb conjugations, tenses, pronouns and many other pointlessly complex constructions.

turkish, persian, arabic, afghan, armenian and all the countries in the middle east have the hardest language to learn for others that arent brought up from those areas. their language sounds so alike (except armenian sounds more russian) some of the words are the same but it will be hard to learn it compared to english. english is the easiest language probably or italian or french.

Well, my English teacher in high school told me that English is a hard language because of how many words we have, and how many words that can have more than one meaning. And there were other reasons why it is hard above as well, breaking its own rules, going around, etc.
Oe reason why it may be easy to us is because we are surrouneded by it, and it's almost everywhere we read, hear, whatever. So it could be that one adjusts to it easily.

Well, I havent encountered anything too hard yet, though its not like I've been looking for such either.
Personally, English for me is just a language I started learning when I went to third grade (now I'm at the 11th) and the internet has helped too. I find it quite easy, and its definitely my favourite language.. Its so pretty ^_^
Here in Finland, all the teachers and tourist and even my neighbours parrot keep saying Ffinnish is the hardest language on Earth.. I say hell no.

i think is about ur country educational system and when u learn a new language. Usually, young children learn languages faster than adult.
so there is no really a hardest language
