ok just fyi, u will want to shop more places than newegg. when i build my PC, im pretty sure all i got of newegg was my psu. i would suggest checking out www.pricewatch.com and www.dealtime.com both of these are rather nice, i got stuff off of both.
for people to help you out, u need to put down your buget( however u spell it). i build my not half bad rig for bout $800, and it works pretty dandy for most things. but noone can help you if the dont know how much money you have to put into this. basicly, post ur limit or noone can help you here.

you can do the piece by piece bit but you have to decide what you want and plan for it.
i do all of my dealing with Newegg.com for the simple reason i know they have good prices, are honest, and will be there 6 months from now.
the sites mentioned can give a cheaper price but some charge more for shipping and may be gone tomorrow.
check any store here
http://www.resellerratings.com/find.pl
be sure to see what the 6 month ratings are as well as more recent

Unless you want a really powerful machine or something special, it would probably be cheaper to buy a prebuilt one, and save the hassle of incompatability issues etc.

That's even better deals for me . *cough*
I like newegg. I got all my parts from it and its still working.
I also like buying stuff from one place. It reduces the hassle.
Newegg is the place to be.
I've been visiting the site since it opened My crazy computer teacher showed me. I was shown the truth. The truth about consoles and PC gaming.
But that's a different story
