City of Villans
This is such a fun game. I have completely moved over to City of Villans from guilds wars for many reasons.
1. The people are so much nicer. Plain in simple. In GW its just ya im goin scam you. In CoV its basicly dude you need any help?
2.There is so much to explore. Face it there are no "Towns" or "Outposts" Its just huge cities.
3. The graphics are better on Cov than GW.
4. So many more powers. There is just a crazy amount of powers in this game. You can go invisable, fly, run super fast, jump high, teleport ect.
5. Much more startigie involved. There is so many ways you can work as a team. And there are no certian builds like IWAY ect.
6. There is a level 60 level cap. And boy does it take awhile to level. But it sure is fun. I love how you actually have to work at leveling up. Not just the oh ya get your friends to power level you to max level in one day.
7. Its just overall more fun. You just get more thrills I think.
8. You can personalize your charater in so many ways. You can also have multiple costumes.
9. And my favorite by far: Super Groups. These are basicly like guilds. Man are they fun. Just to hang out with friends and you get your own place called headquarters that you get to design how you want it too. You can also raid other peoples places.
Also if you ever buy or currently own the game tell me and leave your Global name.
If you play on Pinnacle Server be sure to tell me cause I have a level 9 and a level 10 on that.
Feel free to flame. Because I hnoestly do not care.
If anyone wants to see. Ill show them what my 2 characters. They actually look tight

CoV is fun, but if you've worn out City of Heroes, it may be difficult to pick back up, since CoV is way to similar in style. Theres diffrences to be sure, plenty of them, but it's close enough.

2 reasons to not get City of Villians:
1. You dress in tights.
2. Your villians looks too happy.
3. No.

Yes actually. if you have both games you still only have to pay one fee. Its 14.95/month weather you have just coh, cov or both, and there are PvP enabled zones.

1. You dont have to wear tights. There are so many cloths you can wear.
2. You can change the face expression to almost anything.
3. There is PvP. There is also more than just fighting PvP

I went to best buy the other day, and I managed to stumble onto something called "City of Heroes: Bootleg Edition". It is the FULL game, on 2 cd's, with a cd-key inside the case for 26 days of free play, then if you like the game, you have to purchase more time or something.
Well, I used to play lineage II, so I kinda had low expectations for the gameworld, namely, the idiots ruining the game. I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong.
Anyhoo, I made a really neato looking badass tanker named Demonicus Trueflame, who looked far more villianous that righteous, and entered the game. That's where the fun took a nose-dive into tedium.
My graphics card is beyond god. I can jack up all options. I did this. The game looks...well, I just don't like it.
The interface is maddening. I have to click on an enemy, be standing RIGHT NEXT to them, and be FACING them. I suppose they were going for realism, being that I am a superpowered mutant, and all that shit.
Everyone is lauding the game, and now its next-of-kin, City of Villains, which from I have seen of the core game, is just bad guy PC's instead of Good guy one's.
So, what's the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOun' point?

I played CoH for a short bit a while ago...I just didn't like it. It seemed so fake, I hated the controls. The gameplay just wasn't near as tight as I wanted it. Lets put it this way, if there's a game where I can be a super hero, or super wicked bad guy, I want to be able to pull off some pretty wicked shit. I could pull off better shit in Half-Life!
The game just felt like I was playing with dolls or something, a good hero/bad guy game will make it so that you can FEEL your way around the controls, make it so that you can pull off horrifically mad shit while others can't because of the gameplay and your skill level. I just felt so stupid...it was like..."...walk around...fly around...bad guy!...hit him...c'mon...HIT HIM..."
Why the hell couldn't I leap out of a window can come down on someone with a knife as I turn around and knock the shit out of 3 other people before they even see me, then stand there and laugh...and feel GOOD about it?
Sorry, just doesn't do it for me.

actually you can do that Pie. I use my stalker and turn invisble. Then jump on top of a building and target a foe. Then jump down and nail him.

Oh please, don't try to bring GW into the scene as an attempt to defend CoV. You know very well that GW is entirely different than CoV, and my main genre, FPS. I expected from GW exactly what I got from GW. I can't say the same for CoH/V, which was a huge letdown. Paying monthly, for THAT. Yeah, sorry.

Easy now. Every MMO isnt for every person. To be completly honest, you have to have had a thing for heroes and villains. The looks and feel of the game were geared twords the comic book fanatic.
This isnt to say a non~comic fanatic couldnt get into the game...
Just one of those things where you shouldnt say one is better then the other and expect people to not get defensive about it. So heres the deal...
Play what ya like. Forget the "This MMO Vs. That MMO" game. Ya wanna discuss villans and heroes cool, do that. Lets not start tossing extra tomatoes into the salad eh?
Anywho, I enjoy the game, alot, but like any other MMO I need a break from it to play somthing else for a while. I think the games worth it in the end, but obviously not everyone will agree with that synopsis.

Thats exactly why all the magazines/websites ive seen(alot) rated CoH higher then Guild wars. (Yes i know its their opinions but they are professionals.) Plus u dont have to pay monthly if u dont want to, u can just get a 30/60/90 day game card like i did and get the CD from a friend.
