hillarious.. Untill windows vista comes out, and then microsoft makes back all its earnings 10 fold. $100-$200 program burned on a 50cent CD.
People are going to buy it, Im going to buy it. I thouroghly enjoyed the xbox lineup. I'm from a pretty strict FPS background and I fealt allot of the games were geared twoards me.
I thoroughly enjoyed games such as:
Project Gothem Racing 1 and 2.. Awesome physics, amazing multiplayer. The only racing games ill play
Halo 1 and Halo 2:
The storyline was captavating and the graphics were amazing for the time. The vehicles were awesome and even better multiplay with friends.
Killswitch:
Awesome idea, the ability to hide behind everything basically. I completely forget the plot but man that game was the most fun ive played in a while..
Splinter Cell Series:
Man splinter cell absolutely rocked. Its not how its supposed to be played on the PS. Splinter cell was built for the Xbox global lighting technology and they actually had no idea how they could translated onto the PS2.. It looks like crap on the PS2, ive played both versions.
Mind you im on a really limited budget, So I only get games every once in a great while.

In about a month.. people will be getting xbox360. Wonder how long after the release will we see huge quanitity of xbox360 on sales on ebay. One thing that can hurt xbox360 profitbility is the two type pricing and the lack of "must-buy" games on the launch title. Another fact is the games itself. $59.99 per games and from a average system purchase it usually cost somewhere between (xbox360 with HDD.. 400+ 3 games $59.99x3($180) plus accessory.. (another 100 dollars)) Grand total for the release day purchase would be $680 or more if you buy the system with HDD and some games for it.
I wonder if Microsoft would be kind enough and drop the xbox360 price (for both HDD and HDD-less console) by christmas time since lower price tend to attract people would want the best presents to give out on Christmas Eve.
Good to see that people want to get the xbox360 but just how many of you will get the one with hard-drive on it. Keep in mind, Sony is closely following this release since its rumor that PS3 will be around $400.

Do you remeber the lauch of the last xbox? With Halo being like the only game. Does seem to be a lack of games this time around tho. The harddrive was what made the xbox so i dont know why they chose to make it only an option. It rocked to be able to never have to use those crappy memmory cards, and hold mp3's on it and make your own music for a game. Halo actually required the harddrive, it uses it to lead the levels so theres little loading time.

Best Buy sucks...my brother needed some sort of a cable which was at Best Buy for $17.50. Then he didn't buy it and got the same cable off the internet for like $1.

Heh.. that's called market economy.. I won't tell you where, but the previous company I worked at would markup things like that by up to 1000%.

Not 100 percent positive on the others but I know Halo CE and Splinter Cell both came to the computer and as far as graphics go computers beats the crap out of Xbox and PS2. If graphics are your bread and butter you are missing out on what a PC can do.
Again everyone is amazed over Xbox live, granted this is no new concept. I mean hell years ago I remember playing Duke Nukem and Doom online on my PC. Again nothing new, however I will say the interface and ideas they use are fresh and easy. Just nothing to jump for joy over, not to mention a monthly/annual fee. Which reminds me they gave me ANOTHER year of damnit I should have cancelled seeing as I havent booted up my xbox in 4 months
As I said before though it comes down to preference and games. If you want to buy the 360 well thats all great, I MAY get it way down the line if something killer comes out that I MUST have, but honestly im not even interested in Halo3. The PC has better FPS anyways, better Racing, better alot of things, except maybe fighter games lol.
Personally I just dont want to bother with console games.

hmm.. xbox 360 top selling point is their money making "xbox live" without it, people can't play online, can't download new updates or chats or do anything they wanted online.
I don't get why xbox live is so popular .. i mean look at pc online gaming or even the PS2 online in general. Most of these games is free to play online, granted there isnt' a universal ID for your account which would work with all the games online but at least its free. Guess Xbox live is used for those lazy people who wouldn't mind typing their information to sign up a gaming account for each games.
I guess without Xbox live, Microsoft won't make any profits for there consoles.

hm..well, i expect to end up getting a 360...like a year or two after release, like i did with my original xbox lol....
i bought it just for morrowind:game of the year edition, so i could play the game in bed with my cat sitting on my lap while i kill things
to explain...i have had problems with the pc version of morrowind. theres just soo many wonderfull add ons to it, and the more you add, the quicker the game would desktop me. got to the point it was almost exaclty 28 mins after startup *rolls eyes*..but then again, considering what i had added....
i also have a secondhand gamecube and a new ps2. however, i waited till the ps2 was £99 brand new, and was happy with all three.
but then again, i have *counts*.....30 or so gamecube games, 10 or so ps2 and only 5 xbox games....so i admit, i prefer nintendos games.
it was the same with the DS versus the PSP.
they weas maybe 10 games sheduled for ds that i want, and only 1-2 games for psp i wanted, and one of them came out also on ds.
so i got the ds.
and yes, the consoles that are cracked the fastest and the easiest will always be the better sellers.
because some people are cheapasses and some do it cause they can and some just dont like to buy legit for wahtever reason.
would i do the hacked console thing?...perhaps, depending on what, how much and whether the games worked properly.
will i do it with xbox360? hell no, and no for the other consoles, mainly cause its too much of a fart about to get hold of ect.
and since most of the games for xbox360 are ether fps or drive/shoot/screw-them or sport, unless theres more than kameco and oblivion, i doubt it will bother me that i will have to wait a year or two for a secondhand one and oblivion.
oh, and the reason i would get oblivion on the box? cause that asswipe gates is doing his damdest to wipe us win98 users from the game market.
first Dungeonseage2...its only xp...then fable:lost chapter..again xp only.
now black and white2, its only 2k and xp....i think he needs to realise that there are people out there that STILL have legit copies of 98.
better a legit copy of 98 than a dodgey hacked copy of XP pro, for goddess sake!
so, to end comment..i will end up with all the next gen consoles...eventually ^^ i always do, cause ther are good to great games (at least one) for every one of them

I might give it a few months before I actually buy the systems, and have tried out a few games.
My reputation with sony, however, isn't good as I kept complaining of crap Europe conversions and awful loading times... IF the new PS3 is good when I have trialled the games, I may consider buying it. HOWEVER... it's Xbox 360 ftw at the moment (as it's first in line)

I'll be grabbing a PS3 and a Revolution. PC games don't appeal to me. I love console games much better. I do understand in fact that PC's are more versatile and can work the games better, but the games just aren't there. Developers back consoles way more and thats why I love consoles so much more. I'm not getting an Xbox 360. Main reason: It isn't a next gen console. All it is: xbox with shinier graphics and gimmicks here and there. PS3 on the other hand has Blu-Ray , crazy technology packed into it, and just a whole crap load of things packed in. The main reason I want a revolution is.. because it'll be revolutionary. It'll change the way we play games instead of the same old crap we get on PC's which is similar to the Xbox 360 dilema, same stuff as last year just shinier.
Now don't get me wrong.. I loved the first Xbox. Because its freakin' amazing! Hard Drive packed in, great online setup, amazing graphics, and just the whole thing. Considered 'next gen' when it was launched.
Anyway for the fellow who has the avatar of 'Fact: God hates Console gamers' or whatever it said, I totally didn't care what you said as soon as you said 'HALO 2 + BEAM SWORD'.
You don't know much about the game saying it doesn't involve strategy. I won't go into it, but mabey, you should probably get the game, Xbox LIVE and then learn somthing about strategy.

xbox live = cash cow for Microsoft
Thats right, without xbox live, no one would even buy xbox console nor would people give a crap about xbox360. I do believed that xbox360 is only about using better graphics (trust me xbox360 won't offer any new technology that was revolutionize the console industries) The combination of xbox live and this graphic power for xbox360 will gain lots of profits for Microsoft but in the end, people will get bored of xbox360 because graphics don't make games, its the gameplay and depths within the games that counts.
