For me, Final Fantasy died with Final Fantasy 8. 7, 9, and Tactics were good, but the rest since 8 are of no use to me.
Long live Cecil, Rydia, Kain, Rosa, Yang........
Locke, Setzer, Edgar, Sabin, Terra, Celes, Gogo, Mog, Gau, Strago, Relm, Shadow.......

I wonder about that too. I guess they just lie about how much it costs to develop the games so they can gobble up some more money. They know kids will do anything to get games and many parents will just get it for them after they have heard a few hours of whining/begging.

Mcdonalds as a cheap personal chef

This is our future generation ladies and gentlemen!

Heh, I do have to say that I am probably going to get the 360. The XBOX was well made, and had great games. I got it 4 or 5 years ago (when it first came out to upgrade from N64), and I haven't looked back yet. I don't think I have ever wanted a game that was not on the XBOX but was on another console, and I am (though I hate to admit it) a Halo fanboy.
My only concern is that the 360 will not support the "duke" controler (also known as "that freekin huge thing," "so uncomfortable that it makes your hands bleed," and "the bludgeoner of screen-lookers"). I hate the redisigned controler for the XBOX - it is just way too small, and if the 360 doesn't have the option to use the old controler, I will be upset.
To lighten the atmosphere here, I would like to redirect your attention here.

You know what.. its all preference. Im actually looking forward to project gothem racing 3. 1 and 2 were amazing, i love those games. The gears of war game actually looks pretty good, and has great graphics too.
Im sick of this banter. Im actually going to get a PS3 against my better judgement just for that new Metal Gear Solid. To be honest, i thought the PS2 versions of MGS were pathetic and uningadgeing compared to splinter cell.
When i have both of them check back with me, and ill tell you whats better.

Not buying Xbox360 at this time / no plans, not untill enough rpg/adventure games (anime based espically) are out there to the sheer number there are for the playstation. That and saving my money for the PS3.
Xbox has been very limited in the action/adventure rpg's / pure rpg's / stragety rpg's, etc. I go where the games go.

not getting any of them. I can't play GuildWars on any of them so they are not worth it... lol seriously though. I dislike console system with the SOLE exception of Zelda... I know I'm crazy. but I have to admit the revolution will attract me if there is a Zelda title. lol I'm the sucker born every min. lol the only other title I got on the GameCube that I loved was Phantasy Star Online, which was Nintendo's first Online game out of their deal with Sega... Another Phantasy Star will attract me to Nintendo too... The concept of paying subscription for online play to me is ridiculous. ESPECAILLY ON A CONSOLE!!! I guess thats why I enjoy Guild Wars so much. its a classic Online model, everyone can get behind. Buy game, play game, Buy expansions for game... All the while Playing online at no cost... Thats fair...
Buying it and continueing to pay for it till you don't is not. Why cause when you come back to the game a year or more later to play as a classic, your screwed... Not so with Guild Wars...
The one thing that did get my attention on the revolution was that they started at press that every generation system will play on the revolution. all the way back to the original NES. Thus I can get rid of all my old systems and still use my classic games on the new system. (Which I normally play on my computer now anyway with a EMU) More Consoles should do that. I think PS was the only one last gen that did that... that's why it sold so well.. Everything PlayStation Wither 1 or 2 played on the most recent console version. that was HUGE at launch cause the titles base was already very large for PS1... Xbox missed that boat... And suffered for lack of titles in the beginning. the same will be true for 360, since they are not planning backward compatibility in it. That's just Stupid on MS part...

here the list of upcoming xbox 360 launch games
Kameo: Elements of Power
Project Gotham Racing 3
Perfect Dark Zero
Call of Duty 2
Quake 4
Dead of Alive 4
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Frame City Killer
Gun
Saint's Row
The Outfit
Tiger Wood PGA Tour 2006
Madden 2006
NBA Live 2006
NBA 2k6
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
The Godfather
Full Auto
Ridge Racer 6
The Elder Scrolls IV: Obilivion
I really don't see myself spending $400 dollars to get Xbox 360 and than picking up one (yes one game or two) out of this list. Half of these games are already on current generation system, and games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Obilivion and Call of Duty 2 will be on PC too. And keep in mind, these games are all retail at $59,99. But can anyone tell me from looking at this list... which game will be the top-seller for xbox360 launch title?

MS was in negototiations to get exclusive rights to Quake 4... but it didnt happen... There is too large a PC market out there for it. That was 360's Halo expectation... Now MS is in a rush to make Halo 3 for 360, but attempts to rush a project normally screws it up. it was originally slated for dec 2007... now they want it for late 2006. this has me worried...

I was reading the current issue of Game Informer, and they states that Halo 3 "might" skip pass it release day. Microsoft was planning on releasing Halo 3 on the day PS3 is out but apparently rushing the project might not work so they might push back the release days for a bit.
So yeah Halo 3 might be another dissapointment for all the fans if they rush it out on PS3 release day.

PS3 is expected to be out 1st qtr next year, possible 2nd qtr. (Synthos)
Xbox360 will have some backwards compatibility if you have the hard drive. They have to "patch" each game, not all games will be available at launch. More will come later via live. (=HT=Ingram)
Halo 3 is the big gun MS wants to use to try and derail the ps3 launch. Sony response is having DraonQuest (aka DragonWarrior 9) with FF12 demo disk on the same day. It's good that ms may not let there marketing department / desire to crush sony possible ruin a good game.
And I hate the future of consoles that *depend* on a hard drive. Reason: if you release a bad game now that did not have enough "testing" you face an expensive recall. If you release a buggy game that can be patched... see pc gaming industry for the most part.
Also how many people have rushed out to get the 1st release version of new console. Look at past history of the 1st-3rd revision consoles.
Xbox - dvd drive failure, latter power supply connection / shorting issues (work around is different power cords).
Now I'm a sony fanboy but next is:
PS2 - dvd lens going out of alignment (stops playind cd/some dvd movies)
psone - having the lens unit over the cpu heat sink and (lack) of air vents

yeah, going with two type of Xbox 360 is a bad idea! But people who wanted to play "classic" xbox games, will need to get a system with Hard-Drive attach to it or else they can't play any xbox 1 games. Also i'm sure that most of the xbox360 system that included a hard-drive might have some issues to work out. Like dead hard-drive or heck even dead units.
But the reason why companies like Sony and Microsoft is using HDD in their systems is because of the online aspect that is incorparated with each of them. Xbox 360 will have xbox live support and people who buy those games will need something big to store the files that available online. Whether its a upgrade patches or some minor fixes it will be there for people to download if they got the hard-drive. This can be a problem since developer could use hard-drive as a excuse to release games faster than patch it up for some bug issues.
Both Sony and Microsoft claim that their next gen system is like a PC expect that you can play games and do things on a bigger screen but do we really need all these functions? Do we really need to browse the web, download MP3 (both Sony and Microsoft want to let users download MP3 on their next gen console) and movie viewing as necassary things for our next gen system. In my opinion yes, but these extra feature is added on to increased the cost and served no real purpose unless the users intend to use their system for it.
Well... get ready in a month or so cuz Xbox 360 is coming school and works will be empty for days and every little kids will be crying for a xbox 360!

I like what nintendo did to answer this problem. lol they launched Firewire HDS for their prototypes in japan. you just plug a 200GB drive in and bingo you got a HD in your system. I thought that was sweet... I wonder why the others didn't think of that???

I'm actually going to do a joint-PC project, so I won't be able to get the X360, along with The Elder Scrolls and Burnout Revenge until the new year. It'll be a bit cheaper as well!

I don't think Xbox 360 will drop down on price any time soon, nor will any of the upcoming games go down to $49,99 (unless your lucky and Best Buy have it on sale)
