truthfully, I only prefer playstation because I can't afford Xbox live. And when I say, I, I don't mean I per se. I say it like I mean the archtypical child of all archtypical parents, whose iron-fist rule dictates that their children shouldn't be "spoiled".

Mind you the PS2 was the underdog in the last race, graphic wise. It was the underdog in the PS1 N64 race. Yet people still flock to it because they like the games. Im going to continue with the xbox because i like the games better, just the same as all of you.

kidding... but people say the two tier pricing system that Microsoft used for Xbox 360 will ailenate people who either want to get the system for $400 dollars with Hard-Driver or spend $300 dollars for a system without one.

Wonder how many of the system with HDD will sell out?

ummm. i rather have Microsoft using their technology and money to build a better operating system than using it to try and take over the gaming market! can't Microsoft admit that they drop the balls with xbox and they shouldn't spend the time and effort to become the next gen gaming king?

One company monopolizing the consol industry is not a good thing. Competition is the driving force that makes the technology better and better. If theres only one company left on top watch the whole consol industry stagnate; thell no longer need to update their technology because there is no competition left. Soon lower and lower quality systems will be coming out and youll buy it because there are no options.

the xbox... is the next gen. gaming king. People idolize the playstation consoles because of the connotation that they have with being the best; while the xbox is probably superior.

as expensive as they both are, I hope to get a decent job and buy both, and the fact remains that the 360 is coming out so much sooner than ps3. i never bought a ps2, and (oh please dont hurt me) im not sure i like the plethora of anime based games on ps2. i prefer the more gritty and somewhat more realistic games of xbox. xbox 360 is coming out before 2006, and ps3 isnt supposed to come out until 2007, i heard. i dont want to wait that long just to support a certain company, while remaining oblivious to all the other sides of the argument. the main game series that i want a ps2/ps3 for is the MGS series. i own both an xbox and a gamecube at the moment, and i bought MGS The Twin Snakes for gamecube, as well as MGS2 Substance for the xbox. i loved both, and i couldnt find many good games other than those on the ps2. also, one of the main advantages i found with the ps2 was how it accomplished fighting games. the controller is without a doubt the best for fighting games. however, if you've looked at the specs for xbox 360, they are redesigning the controller to be almost exactly like the ps controller, taking away the ps advantage. as for the graphics, while they are amazing on ps3, they're not that much worse on the 360 from what i've seen.

furthermore, what made the ps2 so popular was the fact that it had so many games out already when xbox and gcn were just coming out, and this time, xbox will have that advantage.

like i said, i'll prolly get both, but ill prolly like the 360 better

xbox 360>Ps3= ps3 obviously going 2 be more expensive, (except for hardcore gamers)= Ps3 has bettter graphics, but most of the time ppl dont care, PS3 comes out later, Xbox360 alrdy has awesome games coming out and coming out soon, to ps3=no word, PS2-broke alot easier then xbox, probably will b same for xbox360/ps3(i know this cuz i had to get 3 ps2s and only 1 replacement for xbox)
