Favorite CONSOLE games ever
Okay, the rules of this thread are not to flame people's choices on games, only post if you have a valuable opinion, only post games for a CONSOLE (no PC games allowed, if it bothers you that much than make your own thread), and put the system and genre if possible.
Here's mine:
1. Tales of Symphonia. A great RPG for Gamecube, and maybe PS2 im not sure. It has a ton of side quests, extra unlockables, and a great storyline.
2. Soul Caliber II, Definatley better than the first, the third might be better but I only have a gamecube so I havent played it. Its a fight game for GC, XBox, and PS2. Each system has an exclusive character that is not available on all the other ones.
3.Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. This is an action game for GC or N64. It is considered one of the best games in existence still after 7 or 8 years.
4. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance:This is a Tactics/RPG for Gamecube. There are also 2 pretty good ones for gameboy advance. This has a lot of extras and characters and a decent plotline too.
5. Skies of Arcadia. RPG, Gamecube. Despite its lack of voice acting, its pretty good. It makes up for the terrible cinematics with a lot of extra stuff and a unique plot.
Anyway, I'm only posting 5 games, but you can do more. If I had a PS2, FF7 or FFX would be on there.

I liked the early final fantasy serious games alot 2-3 7-8-9. I also really liked believe it or not digimon for playstation (the first one). I bought it for my nephew for christmas way back and I aplyed it a little to see if it was appropriate and I really got hooked on it. I also like all the zelda games and ico, shadow of the collosus.

Games that took my life away from me.
Diablo 2 - When I played that for the first time I was hooked for about 4 solid months on nonstop playing. I still play it for a few weeks at a time and do crazy things like the old days.
Legend of Zelda series - Every game in that is perfection. There is no other game that has brought fans back that many times.
Starcraft/Total Annihilation - I hold these games at the same level, as they are both great at what they do. Starcraft still has expanding user made maps, and Total Annihilation had user released units and maps to download a good 10 years after its release. Total Annihilation looks and feels better than Starcraft even being released 5 years prior. It was waaaaaay ahead of its time. A truely perfect RTS, as its still the best out of any new one to come out.
EDIT: Just read the title and post again... Zelda FTW.

Going by the amount of time that I spent playing them, I'd have to say The Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye for N64, Final Fantasy VII for PS, and Final Fantasy X for PS2.

My alltime favorites, are hard to discern from the rest, but I'll give it a shot.
Zelda Series. Hands down. This opened me up to video games.
Chrono Trigger. Beautiful. Need I say more?
Contra. I loved contra and playing it with friends.
Anticipation. An old game for regular NES, but with flair and fun gathering quality
All of the final fantasys except 9 and Tactics. I can't get into 9. I've tried. Just can't.
The list goes on, and on, and on..but I cut it short.
Those are what my favorites are, I have about 10 more favorites for EACH system, but like I said, I cut it short ^_^

wow, lot of FF fanciers here, and i couldnt agree more.
Best driving game: GT4
Best fighting game: Soul Calibur 3
Best FPS: Killzone
Best RPG: erm, well duh
Best Storyline: MGS series *hugs Hideo*
and in there somewhere should be San Andreas, and Mercenaries. all PS2 games, not cos i despise the Xbox, i just dont own one, and as for the zelda games, my gaming history does not go back that far. i also only jumped on the FF bandwagon at FFX, but i managed to find a copy of FFVII, and i am playing it as i type
i know that PC games are banded from this thread, but *cough* Total Annilihation 4tw

The Crash Bandicoot Series with the exception of a few of the newer PS2 ones (since Naughty Dog moved to Jak and Daxter). (PS)
The Jak and Daxter Series (PS2)
Spyro the Dragon series for the original playstation, not the new ones for PS2, those are crap.
Blasto (PS)
Ratchet and Clank Series
Final Fantasy 9
The Gex series (PS)
Uh...that's...about it, I think, maybe.
