I never played it, and never want to play it. I've heard to many bad reviews about the community. Sure, the game may be fine, but I care for community more than anything.

I hear alot of people saying it really depends what server your on. and the ingame community in GW is pretty iffy.....

I guess theres many different opinions, but currently guildwars has the best online community I have come across, and I have played alot of MMORPGS in my time.

The thing I hate the most about WoW is the realm thing. Even though I can understand it, I still hate it.

I've got two people I know that play on different realms, forcing me to choose between either. It's not like I'm scared of the other thinks he's not a good friend because I didn't choose him, but just that I'd like to play with anyone, not just the ones in my realm.

And I agree on the good community. Many people help eachother, many people give away free stuff, many people just chat about non-game related stuff in town etc. In most games it's just, everyone minds their own character, and the rest should do the same.

Though the game sucked Star wars galaxies by far has the best community. I never heard anyone say l33t noob or PWND the entire time I played it. When I started some guy even gave me a speeder because I had to walk to the next town and all he wanted in exchange was that I help out other new characters. Too bad the actual game sucked.

Does anyone know a decent graphics card under 150$ that can play WoW on moderate settings. I got a NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 420 and people are telling me it'll look ugly as hell. But it plays GW perfectly.

WoW graphics are so inferior to GW it is not even funny, if u run GW fine, U will see WoW just as well, What you MAY want to do is get a gig of memorycause some places have so many ppl in them ur systems slows, not from graphics, but lack of memory. my friend went from 512 to 1024 and said it was a huge diffrence.

Yeah it said Orc warrior, im guessing you have something that changes your apperance? I remember in EQ as a DE Thief I had things to change me into gnomes, trolls, well pretty much any race. Those were good times.

I heard D&D online was going to be like Guild wars in the town/ world aspect. If so im a bit dissapointed. Although the thought of the dungeons being trapped and the skills portion of the game does seem interesting. Who knows what will happen. I have been wanting to get into another MMO recently since I havent played one for about a year back when I played FFXI. I just only get into these games if I have RL friends playing with me.

Well, I am finally tired of Guild Wars (for now) too. I think I'd like WoW and have read most of this thread but still have some questions:

1. Is there any central story to the game?

2. What happens if I decide not to pay the monthly fees for awhile? Is my character still there or does it get deleted after awhile?

3. How do I decide which server to use?

4. Can I change my server if I don't like the one I'm on?

In order:
1 - Every race has it's own unique spin on the overall epic storyline, but yes it does progress. Into silithus (shudder). The burning blade expansion goes into the HISTORY, with time travel to the old battle at the end of warcraft III, etc.
2 - I canceled my account november 13, and reactivated it in december. My account had no game time on it, but when i renewed, all my stuff was as it was before, no losses.
3 - PVP is for people who wanna try to leve up while being constantly raped from all sides without warning. RP is for d&d types. Normal is like rp but you can attack hostile players and become "flagged" as pvp. Newer servers (that appear on the realm status page at blizzards wow site, have the best lag management.
4 - Blizzard allowed migration from one server to another, but it has a time limit on it, and only certain one's at certain times, for obvious reasons.

I tried to get that free 10 day trial thing, but that link didnt have anything. I know a few friends that play together and thought it would be interesting to check it out. I just know that eventually I will want to stop playing no matter how many awesome characters I have etc. WoW does look like alot of fun though.
