Affirmative Action for mesmers
*Disclaimer: Please take this post in the right spirit. It is not meant as a commentary on Affirmative Action as a social policy - though I can see how it can be interpreted as such.
It's just something that came to mind when I was brainstorming for ideas on how to make the mesmer's PvE experience a little more supportive.
If anything, it's meant to make fun of a common perception of AA.
But if anyone is offended by the analogy I ask the moderators to close and delete this post. Thank you.
Given the problems mesmers have in joining PUGs for, say, Thunderhead Mission perhaps the developers ought to support a policy of Affirmative Action ... 20% of mission PUGs (determined at random) leaving an area must include at least one mesmer.
If there are no mesmers in the area then one must be "bussed" in from another region.
For example:
A PUG needs one more member for Thunderhead Keep ... The group leader, a W/Mo named Portia Pottie, receives a message ... "Congratulations. Your group has been selected at random to assist in our mesmer assistance program! Please include at least one non-NPC mesmer in the party before you begin the mission."
... Portia searches frantically for a mesmer but the district is, unfortunately, devoid of mesmers....
... somewhere in Ascalon district 1 is Flame Fatale, a level 6 mesmer who just popped in from pre-sear, sees a message, "Congratulations you have been selected at random to assist in our mesmer assistance program! You will be instantly joining a highly prestigous and successful group of adventurers at Thunderhead Keep ... please stand by."
*Bam!* All of a sudden she's in the Thunderhead mission thinking, "WTF? Who are these guys? ... and why is everyone lvl 20?"
