Modern CGI - TOO Real.
A few minutes ago, a friend informed me that a favourite band of mine, Massive Attack, has sampled some Radiohead into their newly released tune for their new album. She sent me a link to the music video and I downloaded it ASAP. I watched the whole thing, loved the song AND the video, and then was floored by a simple fact that I just couldn't grasp: The uses CGI.
NOTHING looked fake! Not a damn thing looks flawed at all. I couldn't believe the list scenes that were CGI, so I decided I'd let you guys try to figure out which ones are real, and which ones are not. I promise you - it's challanging. I had NO idea it was fake.
(OH, and I appologise for the crappy screenshots. I took them quickly and didn't have time to edit them, so I just blocked out all my personal crap.)
NOTE: Do NOT scroll all the way down until you viewed all the pictures and made your thoughts. The answers are down at the bottom.
Pic One
Pic Two
Pic Three
Guess yet?
THEY'RE ALL CGI. NOT ONE SCENE IS FAKE. THIS IS 100% CGI.

OMG!!!!!!!!
Heh I thought they probably just touched it up a bit and why would you want to make a complete guy in cgi when you could just film one *shudder*.
I always disliked unrealistic cgi in movies but it has been very good lately. I thought the cgi in Aeon Flux (last sci-fi I saw) was pretty good except for the blimp which represents the type of cgi I don't like. Hmm I wonder how real Charlize is?
I need to check out the video.

Hmm...now that I can see them...I dunno if that is CGI. It could be a real actor that has been "digitized" into a CGI format. That would be my guess.

kool.
IMO - Only the last pic I thought was more CGI recognizable. but again, with digital effects technology nowadays you can mix real w/ computer generated stuff and no one would know the real difference. hehe.
