Honestly this question doesn't really have an answer. Are we looking at casual gamers or hardcore gamers? Which age group are we looking at? As you'll find at http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=116350 there are a lot of people above the age of 28 - who are more than likely working full time. There are casual gamers that might work 40 hours a week and spend only an hour or two playing a game each day. There are hardcore gamers(usually younger and not working) who play over 8 hours a day.
We can't really find an average that would reflect the situation... My guess is the standard deviation would be pretty high if you did so, however.

Depends what the weather is like, if its raining about 10 hours a week, if its sunny then its about 10 hours a week. So I would guess my average is about 10 hours a week depending on if I have other plans.
Question for original poster, do emulators count as gaming on the computer because I spend a lot of time playing Game Boy on my computer.

It's a trick question, most gamers actually in front of their computer, not behind it!

During the average week (Small workload), hours spent GAMING is impossible to tell because I'm never always gaming or always messing around on forums like I am now, so I'll just ballpark a few figures: 15 Weekdays added together. 20 weekends added together. So 35 hours GAMING.
Total time just on the computer on an average week... this one is harder to figure out.
Wake up at 7:00.
Leave for school at 7:13 (the time spent between those is spent getting ready.)
Computer science for about 50 min mondays and 1h30m tuesdays and thursdays. I am counting that since I do just what I do at home there.
Back from school at ~3:00.
Turn on computer at 3:01.
Snack gathering from 3:01-3:10.
3:10-7:00 is my first giant chunk on weekdays.
7:00-7:15 is dinner.
7:15-11:30(I'm being generous with this number... I did say minimal workload.) is homework, or if I don't have much, more gaming.
That amounts to roughly 47 hours... just on the weekdays... that I'm on the computer. Now for the weekends.
I just remembered that Friday usually goes a bit differently... so lets fix that up right now.
Add 3 more hours for friday... so 50 hours during the week (I feel stupid now... 50/5=10 hours a day would have been so much easier to day.)
Average Saturday wake-up time - 10:00am.
10:05-1:30 first session.
1:30-1:40 making lunch.
1:40-4:30(guess) second session.
4:30-4:35 getting snacks.
4:35-7:30 third session.
7:30-7:50 dinner.
7:50-2:30am(being generous) fourth and final session.
Average Sunday wake-up time - 11:00am
11:05-2:00 first session.
2:00-2:20 lunch.
2:20-4:30 second session.
4:30-4:40 getting snacks.
4:40-7:30 third session.
7:30-7:50 dinner.
7:50-8:30 figuring out/doing homework that can't be done on computer.
8:30-12:30(being generous) finishing up homework that I've been neglecting to do until the last minute... but 80% of my attention is devoted to computer... so I'll do .8*4 for that one.
Time for math!
My calculations got 26.96 hours on the weekend. I'll round up to 27 hours on the weekend.
27+50 = 77 weekly.
If you want to know about summer computer use... Just do Saturday*7-16.
The 16 is a rough estimate of time spent at a lake/river/pool each week.
Just as a review, so you don't have to dig around for your figures:
35 Gaming hours weekly.
77 Computer hours weekly.
154 Hours thinking/talking/dreaming of things relating to computers in any way. (That is generously giving 2 hours a day to talk/think/dream about other things.)
I'm cool!
