Pshaw guns can only last so long. A good aluminum bat would be enough to incapacitate them with a swift blow to the head.
Also, the clothing is very important. In linear algebra a friend brought up how good a motorcycle jacket would be, and it is infact constructed to stop you from getting injured when you fall off a fast moving motorcycle. It would cover pretty much all your upper body, save perhaps your neck and hands. You would need some sort of neck protection.
Hands would be a little tricky, you cant have anything too heavy so you cant really protect them very well. The best you could do would be some sort of rip proof material to stop the bites from getting through atleast, but you couldnt stop the concussive damage. I suppose pants arent as important, as zombies do not usually go after your upper legs or torso. Ones on the ground would be boing after your feet and lower legs, but thats what the boots are for right?
And hatchets... you would risk the chance of getting it stuck in a zombie, thne you would have to abandon it until you dispose of the other zombies. Personally I just like the idea of a good blunt weapon, maybe a morning star with out the spikes?

A Five-seveN is legal to own in CA, amoung other states. It comes with 2 spare magazines, fully loaded. 20 rounds in each, meaning 60 rounds from the start. GREAT little hand gun.
The FN P90, however, is UTTERELY illigal to own, even for a Class 3 because of it's size, and is not manufactored anywhere in the United States.

They changed the name - it's supposed to be a SP90. I saw those on GunsAmerica. They have an extended barrel like law requires (Just like my HK94, which is really just an MP5A2 with a 16 inch barrel, no flapper pan [until recently[ and semi auto only). I didn't know they were in exsistance yet. I know Browning is trying to promote their new products, like the F2000, by macking them civis. They're too expensive, though.
I'd like to add that if you COULD get a hold of a civi F2000, you'd be unstopable in a hoard of zombies.
And about melee - you have to get too close to use it.

They did that in Land of the Dead. The Dead Reckoning, as it's called, is really just a glorified APC - it was fully armored and self contained, with several gunpoints (Which are seen to be M60s. Would prefer something more modern, like a Browning MINIME, but whatever) and defensive weapons.
Am I the only one who wouldn't try to escape? I'd wait for rescue, because if something like this DID happen, it'd be a world effort to stop it.

Using my knowledge of the Simpsons, I should be safe. They only attack people with brains.

I've thought about this alot, since I love zombie movies I know excactly what not to do. Find a place with excactly one entrance where it takes stairs to go up. A roof hatch where I can jump onto different buildings and grab supplies from time to time. Throw some oil or wax down the stairs and walk zombies mindlessly fall over themselves to try and get to you. As for fast zombies, well that's what swords are for.

Maybe coming back for food every once in a while since I would be too crappy at hunting to catch any hares. If any zombies were wandering around the plains then it would be no suprise and I could waltz up and give them a good whap to the head with my bat. Now I dont know about you, but I think that would atleast knock them over, if not kill them.
Also, for the fast zombies.... we would be screwed. Chances of survival would be next to nothing. No point in planning on how you want to be chased down and eaten.

a chainsaw is no problem for me we have one here in the house and about the weight i told you ill use my motor to get away dont think alittle 15 kilograms would prevent me from doing that

No I started talking to a friend about it when we were doing linear algebra homework. There was some creepy wind and it made me think about how it scary it would be if there were hundreds of zombies pressing against the windows.

im going with a nice hefty blunt weapon for my primary weapon. although i may use guns as and when i may find any.
for clothing id use my old motorbike leathers and crash helmet... although i may dump the helmet as it would restrict peripheral vision. solid doc martin boots and i reckon i should be impervious to any zombie attack
unless they are super strong in which case ill be wearing my running gear and legging it out of there

My armor suit of choice would be a halfplate mail, to maximise protection and still being able to move pretty well, also i would make sure there are spikes on the elbows for continues attacking in multiple directions and on the back so no zombie can sneak up and bite your head off :P.
My weapon of choice would be supersharp punch daggers approximately 50 cm in length. This weapon is jammed on the suit of armor so the zombies will have a tough time unarming you when you are mostly outnumbered, also a heavy weapon is only good when you are facing 2 or less oponents by the time youve hefted it up in the air the 3rd attack already has you. These weapons will allow you to kill your opponents lightning fast at close range.
I would also take 2 pistols with only 2 reserve clips ( these are obviously used while fighting outnumbered or to blow your own head off )
Food is mostly easy to aquire, make sure you have fresh water, first aid spray (yes they exist ) and posibly some morphine if you are going to sacrifice yourself you better do it with no feelings making you a tougher target to take out.
Happy hunting :P
