Yup, I am definitely getting Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I have more respect for Bethesda than any other game developer.

Sooo... Who's gotten Oblivion? It arrived in stores today (yesterday in some places). The gameplay impressions have been excellent so far and I saw a video yesterday which looked fantastic. The outdoor environments and level of detail made my mouth drop open.

If anyone has it and has been playing it, please post some thoughts and observations.

I have it for the 360, and I just cannot really describe it. I got like no sleep last night; I am worthless here at work today. I had it playing on my basement wall @ about 6' wide with my DLP projector. It's completely insane. I must have spent 2 hours just messing with the physics engine. I spent at least an hour creating and customizing my character. I imagine it will be some time before I get on GW again, or any other game for that matter. It's just abso-frickin-lutely nuts.

Ya, my roomate got it thismorning. he lleft for school, i snuck in and stole it.
i spent an hour just making my charachter--it was insane. there are so many tiny details you can do whatever you want. its so detailed, though, it took a long time to get a cool charachter--i kept gettin something that looked like a lovechild of an orc and a dark elf. to all people who are about to get it: change your age BEFORE doin other stuff. i spent sooo long on this old wrinkley drow, only to find out later on that he didnt have to look old like that.....
hehe its awesome, and i havnt actually played it yet.

I might consider getting it if it ever becomes online interactive with some PvP sort of stuff. I enjoy killing people online, what can I say. GuildWars is fun because you can still piss other people off and whatnot, but oblivion...well, I've just never been a fan of single player adventure RPG sorts.

Download the newest driver from ATI and guess what it decided to do. Crashed my whole system and forced me to delete all that is related to ATI. Than reinstalled everything from the CD. The funny thing is now the videocard (from device manager) is showing as in PCI slot#7. Which used to read AGP slot. So i'm confused to why the computer is acting like this.

Hmm. Well a resource conflict isn't a good thing. Did you try removing and reinserting the card and starting over from the beginning?

The teasers great... one of the devs pulls out his wallet and reveals to the world that he carries a picture of Patrick Stewart with him at all times o_O
