Yeah, every single time I log on just about, Chris sends me a random PM with something like "Hi Pie", or "I like Pie", or "Hey there", and then...it kinda dies after that. Never a conversation, Chris just enjoys letting me know he's around I guess.

Holy CRAP. I just mauled the biggist rat I have EVER seen.

Here's the story - somebody who came into my apartment (Mailman is allowed in) and let the kitten out. Looking for her. I go outside and come back in, not realizing that I forgot to close the back sliding door.

My stupidity dawns on me and I rush downstairs to close the door. That's when I THINK I see my black and white kitten, Yeti, sitting in the corner. I Don't even make it to the door when I look back and realize IT'S A DAMN POSSUM THAT'S BIGGER THAN MY SIZE 13 BOOT.

I'm a little shocked and run upstairs to get my hunting knife and P22, my little "home defender." *I live right next to a lil patch of woodland on the outskirts of Boston. TONS of lil furry and rabid bastards rumage through there, often finding themselves on my deck, trying to eat my cats.*

I see the thing still standing there, when it GROWLS at me. A rat GROWLED. And it wasn't like a cat growl - it was loud, like a dog. That's when it decided to be pissed and opend it's jaws.

Never in my life have I seen a set of choppers like that. I fired straight into it's gut. The .22s arn't loud at all, so it was nothing but a lil "POP!". It jumped and scurried outside onto my deck, huddling in a corner. That's when Yeti the kitten shows up, and decides it wants to play.

It goes near the possum, which insists on biting the kitten. It makes it's lundge and I pop again, nailing it behind the shoulder blade. All it does is back off from the kitten and hiss, with it's jaws wide open. I grab a piece of wood I use for extra security on the door and duck tape my knife to it, using it as a home made spear, since I don't want to get too close to the thing. I'm outside now, and another "POP!" might wake somebody up.

I jab at it after it tries to bite me. Right in the gut. STILL HISSES! It stops and kind of curls up. I figure it's just playing possum, so I put the blade in it's mouth to make sure. Sure enough, the thing bites down on it, so I push it into it's head. It's deader than a door nail, so I toss it off the pourch, where Yeti starts playing with it.

I tell ya, I've shot a Mule Deer in Vermot that went down quicker than that thing. A .22 may be small, but it's in no way "non effective."

The moral of the story? It's BOTH the size of the dog AND the fight in the dog that makes it win. That little sucker made me work for the life of me kitten.
