There is nothing cool or funny about stalking. It's utterly disgusting and abusive conduct unfit for someone who wishes to qualify as a decent not to mention mentally healthy human being.

I'm not saying I personally have the intelligence and knowledge to put together a computer. I'm just saying you should get the parts a la carte
Mmm...another reference to food

To put it simply, it cost less, with educational discounts 'twas only $1200, and in the year that I've had it it's never given me any problems, so long as it can tackle any game to date, I'm happy.
When it comes to actually building a compter it's actually not that hard, once you've got the basis down it's just pretty much snap everything in. I've rebuilt this thing so many times for no reason at all it's nuts.

Pie, I have just gained even more respect for you... if that's even possible. You truly are the best pie. Tony Chachere's is the absolute best and I love that you realize that! You deserve a cherry on top of the whipped cream.

I agree you can make a faster computer by purchasing the parts and putting them all together. How much Faster do you really need? My new Dell is pretty darn fast..and most of all it is stable! It is not the Lastest/Greatest in hardware, but it was affordable and did I mention Stable?

Overclocking was worth it in the 1990's when computers were whimpier. We did it all the time. We built computers then too...it was worth it then. Now a days if you watch for deals you can get a pre-built for the same price as a home-built.
Now I will match you my Dell with anyones home-built and it will play any game and look as pretty doing it. It is fast enough! It is stable...I will not spend hours trying to figure out why it is crashing/over heating/etc. Dell has be real good at honoring there product too. I ordered a 160Gb drive. They sent me a 80Gb drive. I called them up and they sent me at no charge a 160GB drive and told me to keep the 80Gb drive. Perfect! Now the 160Gb drive is my Data drive. Now as for ram...of course just order extra ram from crucial.com. It is much cheaper then Dell. Same damn ram actually.
I can understand building your own though. It is a nice feeling to put it all together. That is if you have the time...I do not. I want something that is fast enough and WORKS!
So there....

The thing is, I am custom-building mine because I will can strip many parts out of my old computer (this one). Hard drives, graphics card, CD drive, etc. I'm also doing it as this new comp will be highly upgradeable and have exactly the parts I want (unlike this crap HP ).
I am definitely not doing it because wasting hours putting together a computer (or being shamed by getting friends to help because I am way too stupid) is fun.
For under 500$, I can get the extra parts I need for my comp, and the end result will put a DELL valued at two or three times as much to shame.
....Oh, and I want an AMD processor
