So close to nature means less man-made stuff and more natural things like bare skin.

very true guys have to wear all kinds of stuff (except monks in tatoo, which IMO doesn't look to good & warriors in gladiators) but for the most part they are all covered

We can look at it this way. This is a role playing game. People want to step outside themselves and play as a character. Not try to create something that closely resembles their real life. It is the same reason I like movies that step outside of reality a bit. Why do I want to whatch something that resembles my life.

I agree too. Hell, what girl wouldn't want to look great in a skimpy chain-mail bikini, fighting ugly dog-faced monsters invading her homeland, and earn piles of gold and materials to dress herself up even nicer?

Hey Star, how are you? I havent had a chance to chat with you ingame for awhile. I have been so busy with helping guildies and such. And ya what is up with that? Lets dress up the chick characters really skimpy but they have the same amount of armor as the guy armor. Hmmm interesting.

Hey pwnd. Was wondering when you'd talk to me again You'd been quiet in-game the last few days I've seen you on. It's ok, I understand the guildees are more important than me *sniff* No, really. I'm *sniff* ok with that
I'm good, how about you?
In geek culture, whether it's videogames, fantasy art, books, movies or comics, women are always dressed as skimpy as possible while retaining maximum armor bonus. It defies logic, yes, but it's too late to reverse the thinking on this concept lol

It's not totally defying logic. True, we get less clothing, but I think many people forget the 'distraction' factor. All those near misses and tripping over their own tongues is bound to make the enemy efforts come out in your favor.

very true, and i wouldnt let something like that stop me from playing a game i liked. One of my friends started playing WOW and then wanted to play GW with me and then she says "boy i hate how all the guys make those female elementalists and do all that stuff and its just so degrading to women and its not right" and to an extent its true, but you cant let something like that decide whether or not you do something you enjjoy.

When I say "defy logic," it has more to do with keeping all those tiny scraps of cloth and metal from falling off at any given moment during the heat of battle than with them providing a distraction for the enemy, hon. You're bound to have a "wardrobe malfunction" at some point or another lol

The armor is actually air-brushed on. Keeps it from falling off at a bad moment.

I completely agree. See the thing is, that doesn't offend me because you're given the tools, and it's all in how you use them. If some people use them to deliberately degrade women by their actions, that's neither my fault nor the developers. They dressed eles in revealing armor, as well as flirty lingerie underneath, but I find that more realistic than anything, including the emotes. There's nothing inherently wrong with any of them. But some people might just spend the whole time turning it into something perverse instead of just having fun with it.
Now if the devs had made it so that all female characters received strength penalties or couldn't wield certain weapons, I'd find that offensive
